Portsmouth, VA. No visible accumulation because it's too warm. The snow is going fucking sideways out there, though. Really coming down. I can easily see how people in colder temperatures just north of us got fucked by this.

Too damn much.....The next one the models were saying N, now the are starting to go S....6 more inches of snow/sleet Tuesday/Wednesday? This one brought back memories of the blizzard in Raleigh when I was in college...but deeper. I tried to walk to the road in front of the house and got stuck, ended up falling over, make a hole, and then getting back to the shoveled area....for a sec a bit of a panic set in.....it is up to my waist!probably 25-30 inches[Edited on February 6, 2010 at 4:18 PM. 2/6/2010 8:44:39 PM
god damn i am going to be sore in the morning. spent 6 hours today with the snow thrower and shoveling. got some of the driveway cleared out and my neighbor's drive. sidewalks cleared and fron porch too. here's a (crappy quality) video I shot with my cell phone around 1pm after getting the first round of clearing done. we got another 5 or so inches after thishttp://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v245/goalielax/?action=view¤t=snc00107copy.flvthey said on the news that we have broken the record for a winter's snowfall now (and still have 2 more snow days in the 10 day forecast). today's snow fall was, at noon, greater than any single day snowfall chicago or minneapolis have ever had.funny thing is that there were places in annapolis that don't get much sun that still had small piles of ice left from the blizzard back on dec 19th. unless it really warms up, this stuff could be here until late march[Edited on February 6, 2010 at 10:50 PM. ^ markgoal, do you live in Sterling or Ashburn? I live about 5 miles from Dulles. My "official" measurement was 26" in an open field, but did measure a 42" snowdrift on the top of a small hill
2/6/2010 11:33:23 PM
Near South Riding.Snow was waist high next to the driveway where I shoveled, and chest high where they took the snow blowers down the sidewalk and plowed but left the snow in the street parking places.
2/6/2010 11:42:25 PM
Herndon. Holy fuck.
2/6/2010 11:43:26 PM
I went ahead a tried to get all the snow off my car (live close to Dulles also)....I was afraid it would turn into an ice box with it getting down to 6 the next two days, went ahead and got it off now when it is easier. However, my lil Camry will probably be stuck there for awhile....
