yeah it pained me to help joie out because I knew there'd be an army of dudes all up in here but i totally love seeing the look on people's faces when you smack the battery a few times and it magically makes their car work

Ummm...there's definitely a parasitic drain somewhere, and I'd bet it is something with the body control circuit. I didn't pull all the relays to check their influence on the drain, but I did pull most of them and a few fuses too.

The drain is between 900 mA and 1.2 A...definitely much more than should be. There should only be a drain of around 30 mA (for controller/radio memories).

Cody...I'd pull the rest of the relays (including any in the dash fusebox) and check drains like I was with your multimeter if you're bored shitless and feel like screwing with it.

On another note...my dumb ass can't find my keys. I didn't drop 'em over there, did I?

the battery is good. cody took it out of the car last night so it wouldn't die.
it's at 11.5V this morning.
i think it's something like the starter or ignition or something.

we're trying out something we read on there....
Quote :
"We have yet to ID something that causes the passlock system to think it is being stolen, and cuts off the fuel flow. The only work-around that seems to work every time is to wait one full hour and then try, and it always starts. But waiting one hour is not very practical 99% of the time. I read someplace that when it malfunctions, you turn the key to the "on" position, and wait a few minutes, till the "security" light on the dash goes out, then it should start. But, wouldn't you know it, I can't get it to malfunction, so I can't test that work-around. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks."

we're running out of options

Seriously, the body control module is pulling it down somehow. That's what I think. Nothing to do with the starter or alternator. That parasitic load keeps draining the battery.
