Yeah get them something functional...perhaps a nice floormat, or maybe a footstool to help her reach the top shelvesAren't you fucking someone on here ? I doubt diamond earrings would put you in the doghouse[Edited on December 21, 2009 at 5:59 PM. Reason : x]
12/21/2009 5:57:55 PM
hahahahah i realized i posted it on the other page so to eliminate a double post, i removed it.and i'm excited that in 4 days i will find out if you got me a watch lolz.
12/21/2009 5:59:57 PM
not sure yet, but I know what I'm getting your girlfriend
12/21/2009 6:00:33 PM
Just be careful about the type of jewelry you get her if you go that route.Last year, my ex got me pink sapphire earrings and a pink sapphire eternity necklace. He knew I hated the color pink. When I opened it, it definitely shocked me, but I gathered my composure and told him "thank you, i love it"Of course, he could see right through that. "You hate it, don't you?" When I said no, he said I was a liar and left the house and didn't come back for two days.
12/21/2009 6:00:42 PM
well thats his fault.......he should know that you dont like pink and know that by getting you pink sapphire earrings and necklace, you were automatically going to hate it.how much longer did yall date after that experience?
12/21/2009 6:01:53 PM
Well if he knew you hated pink and got you pink shit anyway, thats a dumbass moveI know my girl hates Owen Wilson, so I don't invite her over to watch Wedding Crashers
12/21/2009 6:02:50 PM
A couple of months? We had been together more than 2 years. And we lived together. For my 25th birthday, he bought me pancake mix and a flapjack griddle. And he knew I didn't like pancakes. I think he just wanted me to cook pancakes for him. Oh, and then he accidentally hit me in the head with a surfboard and gave me a concussion. WHAT NOT TO DO, GUYS!

MEN!!!
12/21/2009 6:05:34 PM
yeah it almost sounds like he was looking for reasons for you to be mad at him so then he could look like the victim. "i bought her these beautiful pink sapphire earrings and necklace and she HATED them!!!!!" you know people would be like, "omg that bitch!!!! blah blah blah she's crazy. you're such a good boyfriend." yeah i've been there before. dont let the victim playing boys fool you. he knew EXACTLY what he was doing. he just wanted sympathy while doing it.
12/21/2009 6:05:47 PM
lucy, it sounds like you got a lemon there. yikes.
12/21/2009 6:08:20 PM
Yeah, he was definitely setting me up for failure/to be evil. Oh well. He's gone!
12/21/2009 6:12:32 PM
My mom once said the best gift she ever got was a gift certificate to a jewelry store. Generally speaking I think GC are a cop-out but finding the right thing can be so difficult. Having a gift card would be a great surprise and fun for her to pick out even if its not worth all that much. Some place like Pandora, Charlotte's or Carolina Silver Company you could get something for $100

12/21/2009 6:14:45 PM
exactly! you just have to let people like that go. otherwise they'll continue to play the victim card and act like you dont care/love them when really they're trying to control you and your emotions to them. well at least, thats what my ex tried to do
12/21/2009 6:15:20 PM
you say that she's girly and fashionable, i would assume she wears makeup?if you know/could sneakily find out (i.e. look in her bathroom cabinet) what brand and color she wears, maybe buy her a couple of replacements? maybe a tube of lipstick/lipgloss and a couple of eyeshadows?this might be a terrible idea, but i would like it
12/21/2009 6:15:23 PM
A NICE BRUSH SET aaaaaaaaah those are super, do it
12/21/2009 6:16:40 PM
you can buy her a nice clutch and then fill it with some goodies (like her favorite lip gloss like mcfluffle said, her favorite gum, tickets to see a movie she has been talking about, a small gift card to starbucks). here are some clutch ideas:(per the http://www.belk.com websiteMichael Kors:http://www.belk.com/AST/Main/Belk_Primary/Handbags_And_Accessories/Shop/Handbags/Clutches/PRD~260083130S91RNC1A/Michael+Kors+Redding+Patent+Leather+Clutch.jsp?off=2BCBG:http://www.belk.com/AST/Main/Belk_Primary/Handbags_And_Accessories/Shop/Handbags/Clutches/PRD~2601256EL251SX/BCBGMAXAZRIA+Shiny+Python+Clutch.jsp?off=3Calvin Klein:http://www.belk.com/AST/Main/Belk_Primary/Handbags_And_Accessories/Shop/Handbags/Clutches/PRD~2600508CHPLN0001/Calvin+Klein+Metallic+Pleat+Clutch.jsp?off=0[Edited on December 21, 2009 at 6:23 PM. meh, idk, girls are fickle with clutches. I would say it would be easier to buy her a purse. I love Cass's dedication and idea but I dont like any of the ones posted, im trying to find some others
12/21/2009 6:32:34 PM
how do you not like any of them?!?!?!?! i LOVE the snakeskin one but i'm particularly fond of snakeskin. Jen try to find a bright colored one......like in a pink or purple or fun turquoise. i couldnt find any in bright colors on Belk's page.
12/21/2009 6:35:54 PM
THE MOST METAL GIFT EVER:NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTTTHHHHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!Actually, I don't have one.
12/21/2009 6:37:12 PM
I know, im nuts! On purses there are a few things I dont like: Buckles, tassels, it can be metallic or funky shaped or printed but no combination of the three, and i really dont like anything animal [Edited on December 21, 2009 at 6:52 PM. Reason : eeeeh, im not even sure of some of those. Save for the green one]
12/21/2009 6:52:12 PM
i agree with the purse idea. and put something cute inside like an awesome pair of dangly earrings
12/21/2009 6:56:18 PM
i like the white clutch with the 2 buckles because its simple and not so trendy that it will look dated in years to come (imo, i dont really know much ab fashion)and i love the idea of filling it with stuff (kind of like stocking stuffers)would she appreciate a nice pair of sunglasses? you could go that route.jewelry is always a win if she wears it but get something classic that fits her style and i'd advise against picking out something trendy for her. here is overstock.com best sellers http://www.overstock.com/Jewelry-Watches/Jewelry/Top-Sellers,/top__sellers,/13/dept.htmlor you can go shopping at the mall. actually, jcpennys and kohls have decent jewelry selection if you're not looking to go regular diamond stuff from whatever chain jewelry store in the mallwhat about some fun dangly earrings for new years? you wouldn't have to go real diamonspersonally, i really like these ^ haha omg great minds [Edited on December 21, 2009 at 7:02 PM. dont get a pursegirls are picky as hell as to which purses they'll wear with which outfit, and you'll be hard pressed to find something she likesstick with jewels or a spa or something thats easier not to fuck up
12/21/2009 7:04:32 PM
if you're really concerned, just go to coach or the coach outlet (if there is one out there somewhere) and get her a wristlet they are little purses with a small strap to wear around your wrist keep the color basic and honestly you can't go wrong, it will go with anything
12/21/2009 7:06:22 PM
yeah, the more stuff I see the better off i think you will be with a spa or jewelry GC
12/21/2009 7:06:40 PM
i don't think most girls are THAT picky. as long you keep it pretty basic it shouldn't be too hard to match it with outfits or be used as an everyday purse. but i wear jeans and a hoodie everywhere so i could be wrong
12/21/2009 7:07:14 PM
no i agree, keeping it simple is the key. you know her style and can imagine what she'd likely wearcan you post a pic of her (no homo) that might help set the tone for what kind of style she hasif you get her something from a store she can identify, you can give her gift receipts and tell her she can exchange it if the style isnt just right, you just saw it and thought of her and won't be offendedthats prob the best course of action bc youa) did pick something out for her, with her in mindb) are giving her the option to exchange for something more her style if you were off the markhonestly when a boyfriend picks something out for me, even if its not EXACTLY what i would have picked, the fact that they picked it for me makes me like it more and i tend to favor it over other stuff (girl logic? lol)
12/21/2009 7:12:17 PM
Yeah no offense but someone who dresses like a granola lesbian probably isn't the best barometer hereIf your girl wears Puma instead of Prada, get her a purseIf not, defer to something else
12/21/2009 7:14:26 PM
i'm not offended if you think i dress like a lesbian but i just want to clarify, are you referring to me?
12/21/2009 7:16:05 PM
yes
12/21/2009 7:17:59 PM
yeah if you're going to troll someone, at least be specific! WHO IS THE GRANOLA LESBIAN?^ answer[Edited on December 21, 2009 at 7:18 PM. Reason : ksdjf]
12/21/2009 7:18:23 PM
There are some gold-diggers in here.
12/21/2009 7:27:34 PM
she lurks TWW, so I'm not going to saybut i will give a hint.........it has a cord, and requires lubrication
12/21/2009 7:28:34 PM
I really like a bunch of the clutches you posted Jen. I think we are giving this guy a good idea of things he can get for his girl.
12/21/2009 7:31:45 PM
is a clutch to a purse like a duffel bag is to a suitcasesbasically a cheaper and smaller equivalentbecause this is all news to me
12/21/2009 7:35:57 PM
what is gold digging? he said more than $100 and no one has posted anything crazy
12/21/2009 7:38:05 PM
yes. i only use them for special events like weddings, cocktail parties, shows, etc when i only need to carry a couple small things around like lipstick, ID, phone.
12/21/2009 7:38:58 PM
12/21/2009 7:40:46 PM
Realize that granola lesbian is a very specific label, and doesn't imply a sexual preference as much as a way of life
12/21/2009 7:42:02 PM
the only granola-ish stuff i do is run around barefoot and recycle. other than that i'm not really in tune with mother nature
12/21/2009 7:44:03 PM
two separate sets of lights from IKEA that she wants for her room. Also a pair of sperrys and a sweater dress type deal.....also a new belly button ring......also $100 to start a "fund" to get her new tires on her car so she can come see me more often
12/21/2009 7:46:50 PM
12/21/2009 7:47:14 PM
do not get her a new belly button ring unless she's a stripper or a porn startry to wean her off that asap
