True. I'll probably be drunk.

I thought it was against ALE laws to drink while bartending?...

(Not trying to be a smart ass, just legitimately curious now)

^Sure...but I've never heard of anyone getting caught doing it.

And it's almost like a rule down here in Charleston. I use to work at a bar where I took a minimum of 7 or 8 shots a night. On busy nights you have to have a buzz to deal with the idiots in a bar.

It's a state by state rule. In a lot of the NYC bars I frequented a lot of the bartenders would almost get insulted if you didn't include a shot for them when buying a round of shots.

I don't know how they didn't get hammered

Oh, ok

Don't you get exhausted working as a lawyer and bartending at the same time? Or do you just bartend every now and then?

^ Oh I see. I just remember my mom mentioning how it's not a good idea cause if ALE catches you that would be bad... She would do the thing where you "chase it with a beer" and spit the shot out into an empty bottle

Yeah...I'm tired all of the time. I put in about 35 hours at the bar each week and about 25 hours at the law firm. The combined hours aren't bad...it's the working late nights and having to get up early for court or client meetings. I have to utilize my naps.

I plan on stopping the full time bartending after the summer...but the money during the summer is too good to pass up at busy beach bar. After that I'll probably just do weekends unless I'm really killing it with the legal job.
