I just mightI can break 20 in my 5k nowIs this more or less than 5k ?
1/5/2010 3:54:55 PM
I knew Joie was here, creeping our shit.
1/5/2010 3:56:46 PM
More than a 5K -- it's 4 miles and iirc a 5K is about 3.1
1/5/2010 4:02:11 PM

1/11/2010 2:52:40 PM
1/11/2010 2:53:49 PM
hahahahahaha that is so true... exactly what went through my mind when I was on like the 8th donut
1/11/2010 2:54:34 PM
i will be at the finish line slowly enjoying my own dozen of donuts.
1/11/2010 2:57:32 PM
I'm always tempted to run this, but I think about it and remember that I would probably feel really shitty afterward if I actually did it.
1/11/2010 3:03:04 PM
Im in. Challenger as always. Ive never gotten all of them down, nor not puked. Training on running already as I havnt been running last few months.
1/11/2010 4:09:22 PM
weak sauce
1/11/2010 6:08:54 PM
bumpI'm going to try to run the route tomorrow.......
1/17/2010 7:41:18 PM
so how many people had a heart attack from this last year?how many will have it this year?!
1/17/2010 8:16:19 PM
can I do it with the whole wheat donuts? haha
1/17/2010 8:36:52 PM
do they even exist? never seen such things.and they would be just as unhealthy. (as long as they have the same amount of sugar and grease)
1/17/2010 8:38:09 PM
^oh I know, I was kiddingand yes, whole wheat donuts exist: The 100 percent whole wheat doughnut with 180 calories has a caramel flavoring and is covered with the doughnut-maker’s original glaze. -Krispy Kreme]
1/17/2010 8:51:49 PM
What is the route for this race?
1/17/2010 9:00:37 PM
its so dumb they have this in the dead of winter. They could probably get 4 times as many people if they did it in the spring or fall. Not many people want to eat a dozen donuts while running. Nobody wants to do that shit in the bitter cold.
1/17/2010 9:02:05 PM
^^^ That actually sounds really good.
1/17/2010 9:07:41 PM
^3 iirc, down Hillsborough, turn left onto St. Mary's, right onto some random street, left onto a street that goes to Peace, right onto North St (maybe?), left onto another street that leads to Peace, then right onto Peace.... that wasn't very helpful I guess ^2 It's not "the dead of winter." Last year wasn't bad at all and honestly, you warm up a lot when doing it. All the people wearing tons of layers regretted doing so by the end of the race. And they have an estimated 6,000 people showing up for this race dumbass. Let's not even go into how much the race has grown since it started.[Edited on January 17, 2010 at 9:10 PM. Reason : .]
1/17/2010 9:10:15 PM
well if it was in the 50s it would be fine but they have it at 9am. (should have it at like 2)race usually is in like 30 degrre weather. thats insane. its bad when your body doens't know if it needs to turn on the ac or the heat.[Edited on January 17, 2010 at 9:14 PM. Reason : o and i said they would have more people show up so that last part makes no sense.]
1/17/2010 9:13:45 PM
^ Have you ever ran the race? By the way you're talking, I'm assuming you haven't. So you probably should just stop talking about the weather and the temperature until you have. This is North Carolina - I don't think you can even say we have a time that would be classified as "dead of winter." It's fucking January and it's going to be around 60 tomorrow.and to your edit: I'm pretty sure the last thing people think about with this race is the temperature. Maybe it's the part about eating all those donuts? I don't know, just a thought.[Edited on January 17, 2010 at 9:17 PM. Reason : fucking idiot.]
1/17/2010 9:16:12 PM
fyi most long distance runners are from places warmer than nc. I'm used to running races in the 80s and humidity. 60 is prime. anything below 50 is bad for you. ya its like that in raleigh but not at 9am. i signed up one year and didn't run cuz it was like 20 degrees.
1/17/2010 9:19:11 PM
Don't feed the troll, Samwise16.
1/17/2010 9:20:48 PM
Ya know what... it's not even worth it.Anyways, for all the real people out there:http://www.krispykremechallenge.com/racemap[Edited on January 17, 2010 at 9:38 PM. Reason : ^ truth]

1/17/2010 9:41:35 PM
dumb bitch troll it wasn't even cold at the KKC last year.
1/17/2010 9:47:08 PM
I heard last year they had problems with having more runners than they had crowd control for. Is that true?
1/17/2010 9:54:58 PM
probably didn't have enough help for all the people that got sick either
1/17/2010 10:12:40 PM
^2 I could see that.... the start line was ridiculous went a good ways down Hillsborough
1/17/2010 11:34:00 PM
^ Yeah that's what I heard people complaining about, stuff like that. Hopefully they get those kinks worked out this year
1/17/2010 11:58:04 PM
Well if they were complaining about that then that's a little silly, I think. Last year they gave you these electronic things to put around your ankle - so your start time didn't officially begin until you crossed over the start line... but I can see why those people would be upset if they wanted to be in the top 5 runners or something. Maybe they'll get in the front this year
1/18/2010 10:01:20 AM
so this is going to be my first run, but had a question for all the vets out there.can you take the box and run back or do you have to wolf them all down at KK? I'm just running as a casual runner, figured I'd eat a max of 4. Can I bring the rest of the dozen back?
1/18/2010 10:29:36 AM
Pretty sure you have to down all 12 at KK.
1/18/2010 7:15:56 PM
stupidest shit in the worldand a wastedo you pay to do this? or do you get free donuts
1/18/2010 7:17:46 PM
^^^if you're a casual runner than you can do whatever you want with your donuts.^^only the competitors have to eat all 12]
1/18/2010 7:18:24 PM
I do not want to be around that much vomit
1/18/2010 7:18:39 PM
^ there wasn't as much as I expected... most of it was righttttt before the finish line and yes, you can run back with your donuts - my friend didn't eat any at alland no, the donuts aren't free.. you pay $17 for your shirt, registration fee, and box of donuts
1/18/2010 9:45:19 PM
I want to do this with my boo but he doesn't want to. Why not? "Because." sawahash posted this link in another thread: http://troubleafoot.blogspot.com/2010/01/harbor-holds-on-to-his-lunch-at.html

fuck im gonna be in a sugar coma after this...[Edited on January 25, 2010 at 12:55 AM. Reason : shit jk lol]
1/25/2010 12:54:56 AM
yeah, i just signed up. i figure that it's something to add to the list of things i've done. i am wondering if i'll be able to eat all the donuts and do it in under an hour. i haven't run in months, so the running part is what i'm worried about.i can eat for days, though, but i don't know what i'll feel like after eating a dozen donuts and then trying to run.
1/25/2010 8:08:41 PM
lol if you haven't run in months, don't count on finishing this shit in an hour...unless you're just naturally fast like a gazelle and not fat.
1/25/2010 8:43:00 PM
i will win this next year, by the way
1/25/2010 8:44:11 PM
If I finish it in an hour and fifteen minutes will they still celebrate when I Cross the finish line?Assuming it takes 15 minutes to eat the doughnuts, doubt I can do the hour.
1/25/2010 9:52:06 PM
Oh I'm in!
1/25/2010 10:09:38 PM
1/25/2010 10:10:37 PM
give me 12 minutes for the run out there...5 minutes for consumption...15 for the return run[Edited on January 25, 2010 at 10:18 PM. Reason : lol...2 miles each way, right?]
1/25/2010 10:18:06 PM
Registration is officially closed... I hope everyone was able to sign up (that wanted to do it at least)
