i think for some it is the total opposite... more like now that i am in a relationship I am much more likely go to out to dinner with the significant other, where portions are out of control and I have no idea what kind of ingredients they are using. when i was single i would i would sit at home alone (perhaps in sweats) and eat a bowl of cereal for dinner.

also, when i am out to eat with fat friends i end up getting kind of disgusted and eating less cause I just like, "man I do not want to end up like that"

women's bodies change a lot between 24-26. your metabolism slows, you're usually getting more interested in your career, your hips widen some. stupid baby making.

so yes maybe some of the women did eat differently because they felt "free" to after getting out of relationships where the boyfriend told them what to eat, but i bet some of it was just natural with the body changing too.

You know, you don't have to eat all of the food that is on the plate.

the pet peeve part is that they usually give retarded diet advice to others. I gain muscle mass easily, but I know better than to try to give lifting advice to others thinking they're going to have the same results or that they're failures if they can't keep up. One of these days I'm going to be making backwards progress in the gym due to aging, and I'm prepared for when that happens.

Dur really? No shit.

More just like if you are not used to eating out a lot it is hard to guage at first. Not just quantity, but caloric quality of food.

Yes I am incredibly happy I've gained weight back. I love sitting on my ass and eating fatty foods. I never exercise and I only eat vegetables smothered in a processed cheese sauce. Awesome!!

right. and a lot of restaurants use the full fat versions of things (sour creams, cheeses, butter, etc) when you could make a dish at home that's the same but with the low fat/fat free substitutions.

I think time for working out is another factor. Unless a couple works out together, they generally have less time for the gym because of the time they're putting in with their sig. other. They're also more likely to eat out more.

how so? It is rare that the portion sizes are even small in appearance. One can look at the 1/3 plate of fries, 1/3 plate of butter-ridden other side and 1/3 plate of entre and conclude easily that it is more than likely a full days worth of calories.

it is the sneaky things that get you. i don't know where the fries/butter thing came from...i was not refering to outings to BK or something.

i typically eat rather large portions at home, i just did not realize quite how many low fat/cal/carb things I was substituting in my cooking. i mean, i knew there were some, but the difference was more than i expected. and that is what i meant!
