it's been years since i've said it, though...i guess i don't quite understand why that term is any worse than saying "fuck" and the like...expletives and racial slurs are equally bad (or equally offensive, anyway, for good or bad) in my book

i've been cursing mexicans in general recently, but only in my head and words like "wetback" don't even enter into it, if for no other reason than i don't understand the insult

The other day my roommate and I were playing Battlefield 1943, and when I saw that we'd been assigned to the Japanese team I shouted, "Oh, don't tell me I gotta be some goddamn slant again!"

It may not be the most racist thing I've ever said, but "slant" is probably as bad as I get with individual slurs.

^^^ I always assumed it meant that they work outside in the sun all day, and their backs are wet because they've been sweating.

Because if you swim across a river, your entire body would be wet, not just your back, as it is if you've been working in the sun all day.
