looking at it from this view men always sleep on the left.ones that dont are fooling themselves and are gay

I always sleep on the side closest to the door. So at home, it's the blue side in the OP. But it varies when we are away, depending on where the door is. I am told this is a very manly trait. It means that subconsciously I want to protect her.
1/7/2010 12:01:41 PM
mine's quite the opposite[Edited on January 7, 2010 at 12:02 PM. Reason : i take up the whole bed, that is]
1/7/2010 12:01:49 PM
yes

I don't think it is specific to being manly. It's simply the shortest distance between you and the exit of the room, it's logical on several levels, but if she buys into that idea, I see no benefit in enlightening her, lol.
1/7/2010 12:08:33 PM
Yeah, I totally made that up. But she buys it
1/7/2010 12:14:58 PM
Most likely so you can escape a burning house without her getting in your way and slowing you down.

The king size tempurpedic (best investment ever, btw) makes it not much of an issue, but I usually fall asleep snuggled on his chest. Hes gotten really good at rolling me over without waking me up. He is a cuddler, though, and is usually cold when he sleeps, so I often wake up as a little spoon in the morning.

I think it's interesting to note that most men sleep on the right side of the bed. This may explain why women are often bitches; they sleep on the wrong side of the bed. lolz jk jk jk.So yeah. Why is it that men sleep on the right side and women on the left? Honestly, it feels natural for me to sleep on the right side. Whenever my wife and I walk around, she's also on my right side, holding my right hand, etc...
1/7/2010 12:57:06 PM
I sleep on the right side at the s.o.'s place and the left at mine (because it's closer to my alarm clock)
1/7/2010 1:18:10 PM
You have to move all the way to her side of the bed when you first get in. Then when she falls asleep, move over to your side. But leave a little room in case she starts encroaching on your half.
1/7/2010 1:24:03 PM
I sleep on the right side of the bed at each place. Usually take up most of the bed too

Always sleep on your side that leaves your dominate hand free - will increase fucking by 25%.
1/7/2010 2:43:11 PM
The diagram is accurate. Also, fuck dogs in the bed. Just makes it worse.
1/7/2010 2:47:30 PM

1/7/2010 3:24:15 PM
i'm pushy when i have to share the bedi like my space and i don't like snoring or mouth breathing!
1/7/2010 3:24:56 PM
this is pretty true it happens because he has to spoon you. Right now its just me and I lay diagonal completely sprawled out, its great

i am a mouth breather....i dont understand why i have to feel ashamed of something i do when im unconscious! the worst is when someone wakes me up because im mouth breathing or snoring- its like AAAAAH fuck i dont care if you arent asleep yet and I dont care if my unconscious involuntary habits irritate you.
1/7/2010 3:35:30 PM
I like to sleep farthest from the door when sleeping with my s.o. Makes me feel safer I guess. And we usually snuggle in the middle, but he seems to dominate most of the bed.
1/7/2010 3:48:16 PM
I sleep on the side with the table/water/alarm clock next to itsometimes it gets taken over though[Edited on January 7, 2010 at 3:52 PM. Reason : so that chart is spot-on]
1/7/2010 3:51:55 PM
It seems that hogging the bed is usually a result of cuddling up for warmth. I always get hot at night and wind up retreating to well within the bounds of my side. At least I think I do.
1/7/2010 3:52:31 PM
i will kick my dog's ass if he tries to get up on my bedhe has his own bed for a reason
1/7/2010 3:56:46 PM
no way, I always changed sides.
1/7/2010 3:57:21 PM
^2 poor Finley I will admit... the bigger and bigger Gambit is... the more he gets kicked off the bed. :\[Edited on January 7, 2010 at 3:58 PM. Reason : .]
1/7/2010 3:57:45 PM
sorry skwinkle. you were all up on my side last time. Then i got up to get some water and came back and you were spread out like you were doing a horizontal cartwheel... i had to sleep at the bottom of the bed
1/7/2010 4:06:53 PM
I forgot to mention that both sides are my side.
1/7/2010 4:08:40 PM
this is important information to know when it is my bed.

Sometimes Ken pushes me to edge. Because I like being the big spoon, he constantly pushes me to the edge with his butt. The one thing that really bothers me the most about sleeping in the same bed with him is if he makes my cold spot warm. I HATE THAT! GRRRRRRRRR I would have to say that if we did not sleep on top of each other I would think our marriage was in trouble.
1/7/2010 5:26:52 PM
Make your cold spot warm? I love warm spots on the bed...warm from body heat that is
1/7/2010 5:51:16 PM
I like to fall asleep on my back and I need room to spread out my arms. So, however much space that takes up.
1/7/2010 5:55:35 PM
1/7/2010 6:01:40 PM
i also like being the big spoon. but only if i can keep my arm from under... i like feeling my arm in the morning
1/7/2010 6:02:28 PM
Lucy steals all the covers

Here's my question for the people with problems about pets getting on the bed...What do you let, or not let, your pets do?If you also don't let them get on your couches and other furniture, then I understand not letting them get on the bed. But if you let them do all the other shit...then as far as the "germ" thing goes, I don't see the big point in not letting them get on the bed as well.I personally don't give a shit. It's my gf's dog and he only gets on the bed at her house. It's not my place to tell her what she can do with her dog. But it just doesn't bother me.
1/7/2010 7:04:29 PM
If I roll over once, I'm off the bed. We have to start with four blankets for me to end up with one.
1/7/2010 8:57:16 PM
somehow we're actually about 50/50
1/7/2010 8:58:45 PM
that picture looks pretty accurate to me
1/7/2010 9:00:29 PM
I wouldn't let my dog on any of the furniture but that's just me. Doesn't have anything to do with germs but with hair.
1/7/2010 9:06:01 PM
yeah, i usually end up trying to sleep in the middle of the bed...but he is always stealing the covers
