No offense man, but I find it ironic that you always talk about making financially sound decision, yet you go have a baby out-of-wedlock and ended up throwing away thousands of dollars on lawyers.

1) Apparently you, and some other posters, need a refresher on how that baby came to be
2) Are you trying to insinuate that the efforts he's made to be a good father are not a sound financial decision? In other words, are you meaning to say that there is/should be a price on a healthy parental relationship?

^^^People value things different. I applaud this man for doing all that he can to be a part of this child's life and hopefully bettering her future by influencing her in a positive manner that, from the sounds of it, her mother cannot provide.

I'm stingy on my grocery shopping, but that doesn't stop me from throwing down Benjamins on my car projects. To each their own.

Ironic, yes , but definitely not a bad thing.

Well having a kid whether married or not is usually never a sound financial decision.

So today, I sent a certified letter to my old roommate, requesting that he pay me back for the 2 checks that bounced, plus $60 worth of processing fees. He has two weeks, and then I can have him charged criminally.

After that, I went upstairs and filed a small claims lawsuit against him for the remainder of what he owes me.

I emailed my lawyer (family law) 2 nights ago--coincidentally, the next morning, my ex FINALLY responded back and said I could have my daughter during the dates I asked for. She was a bitch about it ("get off my back, i have issues i'm working through, i'm not ignoring you , etc. Oh, and "I'm really serious about her maintaining her schedule and minding her manners." Called it. My 10th and final message to her was somewhat less polite than before...I think maybe she recognized the pattern of "nice...nice...nice...nice...nice...nice...nice...WTF, BITCH...lawyer gets involved" and responded before that next step came.

Yeah, I hope that's what they do.

Damn! Were they all as ridiculous as that girl who sued you for libel or whatever it was?

I dated her for ~2 months, originally. The crazy didn't really show through, but she did seem really, really clingy. I use the term "dated" loosely, though. We only went out and did anything 2-3 times...most of the time, we were each other's bootycall. Due to the clingyness, I was just starting to try to distance myself from her, but then we found out she was pregnant.

Throughout the pregnancy, I spent a lot more time with her (I went to all the doctor's visit's, childbirth classes, Babies R Us, etc with her...the crazy started becoming pretty apparent once I was around her more. No exaggeration--I'm pretty sure all of the shit over the last 3+ years would be enough to write a book, and it would be on par with Tucker Max on the "What the hell, who does shit like this" scale.

That's like saying "You talk about making sound financial decisions, yet then you go and have the engine in your car blow up, and end up throwing away thousands of dollars to replace it."

I mean, what're you gonna do? Sometimes things don't happen in the best way...you do the best you can with the hand you're dealt.

I'm not bitching about my life. I love my life. I'm bitching about having to unfuck problems caused unnecessarily by other people. It seems like I waste hours and hours each week due to somebody else dropping the ball/doing something fucked up/etc.

Oh, and signing a lease wouldn't have done me any good, as best as I can tell.
