wouldn't you just turn it on it's side for "widescreen" ? i mean it's not really big enough to even have "widescreen" as a option...

i would guess that multitasking is coming soon. at retail launch?

i can see this being extremely useful for trips, books/music/movies/maps etc all on one thing... now i just want good high quality trail and cartography maps / charts (water, lakes, national parks and trails) as well as improved maps in general...

with the adapters USB and card reading (built in would have been nicer of course) is sort of a moot point...

not saying that this is a end all be all device but it has definite potential.

More likely an OS upgrade at some point down the line.

There is no technical limitation to multi tasking, it’s just switched off.

There are some VERY slick tools though you can jailbreak and add to your iPhone now to add multitasking that works seamlessly.

Did you forget that practically NO music store uses DRM anymore? the iTunes store hasn’t had DRM for the majority of its songs for nearly a year, and for ANY of its songs for a couple months.

10hr battery life on the iPad. It decimates its competitors considering the form factor to achieve this.

And the iPod eco system has had the same connector for maybe 6 years now?

The iPad is probably the dumbest investment anyone can make. Period. It can't do anything. If you want to do anything with documents, spreadsheets, etc you need to buy software specific to the iPad. If you want a real keyboard you have to buy a proprietary one just for the iPad, if you want to multitask? To bad.
