Milk yes. Anything else... na. Then again it seems everytime I get bread anymore its got mold on it well before the exp date.

then you should look at how you're storing it

What if Milk pricing scaled with expiration date? Maybe start out at $1 per gallon and add 20 cents for each day beyond tomorrow that it will remain good.

In the fridge, miso doesn't ever go bad

^ haha how the hell did you manage that? Were you using dirty utensils?

I don't really look at the expiration dates. Refrigerated stuff is eaten up quickly and if not, I'll throw it out if it looks icky or smells funny. I've seen people throw out perfectly good food just because the expiration date was that day.

^^Perhaps. I don't remember -- It's been a year since I last opened it.... ...and a few years since I bought it. It looked, smelled, and tasted normal. But it was bad. Oh, it was bad.

as long as it doesn't smell too terrible or have something physically growing on top, I'll eat it.

so like when nyquil says exp:12/06 does that mean it is completely not effective or just less effective. like, what is the half life of nyquil?
3/9/2010 11:16:23 PM
Probably just less effective.

..and not by that much. (90 - 95%)If it were a decade or more, I'd worry about the plastic bottle it's in.
