I've climbed my way out of the friend zone before. But it took so much effort that by the time she was head over heels for me, I was tired of her.

Many times I've gone from hooking up with a girl to putting them in the friend zone. It usually sucks for them at first, then we become really great friends. But then my current girlfriend will hate all of them...

I have about equal parts male and female friends, and almost all the females are mutual friend zone people. My own logic cock blocks me a lot. Anyway, my experience is that female friends like to try and set you up with other girls, I haven't seen anyone mention that benefit.

That's sort of how I see it. It's not like if I'm into a guy and we get along I'm going to write off dating him just because we were friends first. If anything it sort of makes things better because I know (or let myself think, anyway) he didn't only want to get into my pants. Any of my guy friends I wouldn't date aren't in the friend zone because they didn't ask me out right when we met, I just don't feel a relationship sort of spark with them.

also there is the reverse of that, where girls use the friend zone as an excuse to shoot down guys without having to see themselves as rejecting them.
