yeah, they were hanging the signs yesterday
4/21/2010 2:48:39 PM
shit why couldn't this have opened at the beginning of this semester/year.
4/21/2010 3:31:43 PM
seriously, right before summer is a bad time to be opening a business that will mostly rely on the foot traffic of college students. Speaking of foot traffic, the Time Out in chapel hill has lots of it while I don't see this location receiving nearly as much. I hope it sticks around but if they are expecting success equal to the CH location then they will be disappointed imo.
4/21/2010 5:12:28 PM
anybody hating on this just cuz its from chapel hill aint never been therethe food is bad ass, the portions magnificent, and they give you SECONDS...hopefully its like time out in chapel hill and not timeout bar in RTPi dont know why one of them is a stupid bar and the other a great great eatery
4/21/2010 5:19:09 PM

4/28/2010 12:27:42 PM

4/29/2010 1:26:46 AM

4/29/2010 1:28:45 AM

4/29/2010 1:47:49 AM
^he said it firstit prolly won't be there long thoughsummer is coming AND I don't see many people going out of their way for an overpriced biscuit[Edited on April 29, 2010 at 1:49 AM. Reason : ....]
4/29/2010 1:48:14 AM
i know. people who open things there keep opening at the worst times. like didn't big kahuna open around or during the summer too? why not open at the END of summer/beginning if fall when people are back, all into going out, drunk after football, etc. seems better than late spring and being quasi dead for the summer. maybe the UT camps will keep it in business?i only eat sides at time out. i get fried okra and macaroni. sometimes i just get fried okra. that is mostly why i was excited about it. a place w/ fried okra that isn't K&W. or ole time (drive). oh and the fact that i can eat macncheese and fried okra at 4am if i want to.[Edited on April 29, 2010 at 1:54 AM. Reason : .]
4/29/2010 1:52:34 AM
$2.99 for a side IS ridiculousespecially when it's cold fried okra like i had last night
4/29/2010 1:56:15 AM
was it fried on-site or defrosted in a microwave?(the okra)
4/29/2010 1:57:41 AM
4/29/2010 2:00:44 AM
i'm sure it was fried on-site, but it must have been fried up like an hour before i walked infuck that shit yochicken and biscuit were still good kind of cold with texas pete but not the quality i am used to at Time-Outmaybe i wasn't drunk enough
4/29/2010 2:03:27 AM
I'll stick with bojangles while hungover until I hear better things about this joint
4/29/2010 2:04:46 AM
^^^ i was referring to the chapel hill one - when i eat there i get mac n cheese and fried okra^^ and i don't live by campus!!! if i drove from my parents house to ole time it would be whack (JUST FOR FRIED OKRA. PLUS THEY ARENT OPEN AT 4am)and i actually like time out's fried okra (at least when i've had it at the chapel hill one)4am food dude. you got like burger king breakfast, waffle house, cookout (sick) or time out (now - i haven't eatn the raleigh one). i'm just sayin anytime i've had it in chapel hill late night its been fine BUT then again i only get mac n cheese and fried okra (like i said) so i can't comment on the quality of chicken biscuits! without even trying the fried okra at this place, I'm sure it doesn't hold a candle to the fried okra at K & W
4/29/2010 2:08:11 AM
^^ hahahahaha (pre edit)that is what i said. i asked you at first if it was 3am and if you were drunk. and you didn't asnwer but i'm assuming no. and that is why i said you're doing it wrong. but you said you weren't. but now you agree with reviews. WHICH ONE IS IT MAN^ yea k&w fried okra is the bomb. so is ole time. mmmm ole time. mmm boiled potatoes.[Edited on April 29, 2010 at 2:09 AM. Reason : .]
4/29/2010 2:09:16 AM

4/29/2010 2:14:15 AM

Ate there for lunch, last week.Got the chicken and cheese biscuit, I thought it was pretty dank and one filled me up (you need to really like fried chicken to eat it though)I def agree that its a little expensive. Everything needs to be a $1 to $1.50 cheaper IMO /cheapo

i saw the man vs food episode where the dude went to the Timeout in chapel hill... He noticed, just like I did, that the biscuit cutter they use looks like a Klingon Bat'leth.
5/3/2010 12:48:48 PM
to me it look like they just opened a bunch of cans of veggies to mebut hey, if they got a good cat head biscuit i'd let it slide
5/3/2010 1:43:10 PM
5/3/2010 2:59:36 PM
i still don't get why people are going here to eat normal meals like lunch on a mondayi've always operated on the notion that this was drunk/high people food. late night drunk food. possibly some hungover foodeither way - i think alcohol is prereq.[Edited on May 3, 2010 at 5:44 PM. Reason : .]
5/3/2010 5:40:57 PM
So you're saying that the food at this place is like some chick you have to drink a six pack before you're willing to make out with?
5/3/2010 7:45:43 PM
Food was awesome.
5/3/2010 10:13:35 PM
do they have the skin plate?if not, then I have no interest in going
5/3/2010 10:16:57 PM
Strictly a drunk food establishment, and the drunk people don't lie, on Hike night Timeout was fucking packed right after the bars closed. There was a line down the steps to get in the damn place
5/3/2010 11:07:40 PM
I heard they had to have security for Hike Night.
