all the bench press exercises I do are with dumbbells and I haven't maxxed out in like 10 years so I have no idea. Though I weigh 200lbs right now and I've never put up that much weight. At this point I'd guess no.

I was 10 lbs away from benching twice my body weight in college and law school.

I personally think I'm in better shape now, but don't think I could come close to that since I don't really lift heavy weights anymore.

The majority of my workouts these days consist of working around the yard. Moving logs, chopping wood, and pushing a wheel barrel around

Yes, I could do close to 2x if I didn't have massive tree trunk legs

In HS when I was juicing I was 230 and lifted 350

Now I'm 180 and do 225, could probably max 250

I can't and I'll never be able to. I have a horrible elbow. It's all I can do to press two 55 lb dumbbells and keep my arm stabilized...

I could in high school when I threw shot put. But now I am weak like woman. And I'm glad. No more dyke arms.

Yes.

My goal for the winter was to get my bench back up to 225, but my elbow crapped out when I hit 220 and now I have to sit it out for 3 weeks.

probably not anymore, lost the muscle memory.

In high school I weighed 130 and benched 200 though. now I weigh like 170ish but I doubt I could bench that now

I haven't done a 1RM on flat barbell bench in a long time, as it hurts my rotator cuffs, but I'm probably around 140-150% of my bodyweight right now.

Once upon a time (college and shortly thereafter), I did 192% of my bodyweight (350 lbs at 182 lb bodyweight). Oh well, it was cool to have done it once...my joints won't withstand that kind of beating anymore, and I don't really care to have my life revolve around exercise quite to that extent anymore, either (partially because it isn't as much fun when you're off pace from what you used to be able to do, know it's impossible to ever get back to that level, and have pain when you really push it on chest or shoulder exercises).

I figured that most grown men who aren't fat would be able to press their bodyweight once, though, even if they don't work out. I guess not so much.

once upon a time i could, but i was in a freak accident a while back an now have a supremely gimped up elbow. according to the doctor i'm lucky to be using it at all. now, i'm a supreme puss when it comes to feats of strength, and I throw like a girl.

I benched 345 ten times at a weight of 275 before I started dieting this winter. A few years ago when I was at my leanest, I was able to bench 315 ten times at a weight of 230. Fatass me was benching about 1.25 times my bodyweight while not-so-fatass me was benching 1.35 times my bodyweight. The difference in my squat numbers is even more lopsided. All the more reason for me to go on a serious diet.

I changed up my lifting style to focus on time-under tension, and I'm only capable of benching my bodyweight. I guess another way of looking at this is that letting the weight rest on my joints at certain portions of the movement increased my lifting capacity by 20%. The difference is even more pronounced with squats. I feel like I'm getting a better workout by never locking out on any exercises, so I'm going to continue lifting in this fashion.
