while not a tdub app, this app has the ability to sidestep AT&T, meaning free minuteshttp://finance.yahoo.com/family-home/article/109173/iphone-app-to-sidestep-att

hmmm. how does it receive calls if it can't run in the background?
3/26/2010 5:00:05 PM
Most apps get the axe when a call comes then you can restart them later. Which makes perfect sense.
3/26/2010 5:14:50 PM
right, but that's for the native iphone dialer app, which DOES run in the background. this app wouldn't be able to. the only way i could see it working is through push notifications, which is kinda lame

He's saying the rifle pictured by BobbyDigital is an M110 SASS. I'm saying it's a civilian M4 (or AR10). The pictures are not the same weapon. Look at the barrels, not the same, Look at the magazines, what he's featured and what's featured in the picture is not the same, the buttstock is not the same. Can't see the chamber, so I have no idea why he thinks that's for a 7.62, when the barrel clearly shows, it's for a 5.56. The M4 might not come with an adjustable buttstock, but a standard issue m16 would not have a shorter barrel. Is there a bipod on the photo? No. But the bipod is standard on an M110 which means he's identified the wrong rifle. That picture featured by BobbyDigital is not an M110 SASS. If you can't shoot without a tech, don't think you'll get better with one. Besides, I don't know any Soldier who would want to add weight to their gear. Reflexes, 20/20 vision, steady hands and position, and controlled breathing will kill the enemy just fine. I'm not even sure why the military would want to spend money on a short range file to be more accurate further, it's not like we can see the enemy that far away (due to civilian uniform and everyone's got an AK-47).Those kinds of inventions get people killed. "Stop firing! I'm waiting for this tech to load!"Fuck that, dude.[Edited on March 26, 2010 at 7:10 PM. Reason : a]

Maybe I'm bumping a dead horse here but I am posting from a TWW app I'm working on and I'm interested in features people may want. Before you get too excited the main premise for this app is just a full screen webview with some transparent controls for paging threads. So far things I'm going to add include an auto reply generator which someone mentioned itt bc I find that comical, and hopefully integrate with an image hosting site to easily drop pictures from your camera onto imgur and get back the link without leaving the app. Here is the 5 min dev time preview[Edited on January 30, 2011 at 10:07 AM. Got the image API working! Now you can select a pic in your image reel and it is uploaded to imgur and a link is automagially entered into the box. Gonna hook the camera up next so TWW action news can take photos and get them uploaded in record time.[Edited on February 3, 2011 at 10:26 PM. Reason : Not sure what's causing that. I have uploaded 3 with great success. This may be too large][Edited on February 3, 2011 at 10:38 PM. Reason : I didnt realize this worked, in the app it looked only half there. GREAT SUCCESS! Kinda.]

Picture uploads & no side scrolling

I'll figure out this image bug tonight and work on layout tomorrow. I'm actually not a very adept JavaScript programmer so it tends to be a bit slower going. I like doing the obj-c stuff bc I actually make quick progress.

i'm just excited for progress! i thought this project was toast
2/3/2011 10:34:18 PM
I'm thrilled to see someone actually working on something, but the only thing I think it needs is a readable font size without side scrolling.

Where is the Paypal link? I want to donate $5 to this cause.

2/14/2011 2:20:06 PM

The cool kids already have one thanks to ^
2/14/2011 5:29:38 PM
But that's just for pms right? I was hoping for one that would make posting faster than just using the browser
2/14/2011 5:34:44 PM
Notification of new PMs or updated My Topics. The browser already lets you post, never really understood recreating or layering on top of the UI even if the site isn't the most mobile friendly. The ability to upload pictures is a good idea, though why upload to TWW if you can upload to Facebook or somewhere else? I guess I don't use the Photo Gallery that much anymore
2/14/2011 5:43:13 PM
beggars can't be choosers. It lets you know when you have pm's and someone replies to a thread you have selected from My Topics. That's good enough for me. lol A full tdub app like the one for howardforums would be sweet though. ]

Hey guys, I am still working on this here project. I will probably have a first release out within a month. evan right now it is just some webkit stuff I didn't feel like going through the work to scrape the website and build object models out of it, but perhaps down the line. First release should have:Customizable post convenience buttons.Ability to upload photos from camera/or camera reel in one touch.Web optimized layout(might need support on a mobile css stylesheet if anyone wants to help)Other things to help simplify the navigation of the site.Android app is on the roadmap, but wont be until after initial iPhone stuff is done.
