I personally would talk to the person first. That's just me. If they get confrontational, then I'll just walk away and tell my boss later that day.

If your boss talks to him, and it doesn't get better, then complain again. If it doesn't get better after that, go above your boss (like to an HR rep). If it still doesn't get better, get a lawyer.

It's time to be an adult and stick up for yourself. Tell him you didn't like what he did/said and tell him why. Also inform him that you'll go to HR/your boss if it continues. Even if it backfires somehow (which is highly unlikely), it'll be a good stepping stone for future incidents like this.
