I think it's pretty relevant if he were trying to hurt her. If he outweighs her by 90 pounds, then she wouldn't stand a chance in a physical altercation, especially considering that they're both collegiate athletes in excellent physical condition. And men are physically stronger than women, on top of that.

im pretty sure a 200 pound man couldnt take some of these lacrosse playin chicks I done seen rollin around

so for most lacrosse chicks i would say the assailant's weight is irrelevant because there wouldnt be that huge of a difference

But even boxers and wrestlers have different weight classes. You don't pair a heavyweight boxer against a flyweight.

I wonder why he got rid of her computer?

Quote :
"Mr. Huguely also admitted that he took Ms. Love’s computer — he said he communicated with her in e-mail messages — and tried to dispose of it, but authorities later recovered it, the affidavit said.

Mr. Longo would neither confirm nor deny if the computer contained death threats, and would not specify what evidence led to the first-degree murder charge. There was no record of any previous violence against Ms. Love by Mr. Huguely, Mr. Longo said. "

BigHitSunday, I don't know what women lacrosse players you've seen. But most competitive women lax players are not that big at all. The sport requires a lot of running and endurance, and most women players are pretty slim and in shape.

The guy was 6'2" and 205, a pretty big guy.

Hitting is technically not allowed in women's lacrosse. The rec specs are to protect from inadvertant high sticks or catching a lacrosse ball to the eye.

"Last Wednesday detectives confiscated from Huguely's apartment two white Apple laptop computers, a green spiral notebook, two white socks, a bathroom rug, a shower curtain, an entryway rug, a pair of blue cargo shorts, a polo shirt and a Virginia lacrosse shirt stained red. Authorities are particularly interested in threatening e-mails and texts that Huguely allegedly sent Love after their breakup. "We're trying to corroborate [prior threats] through as many sources as we can," says Charlottesville police chief Timothy Longo. Earlier in the semester Huguely and Love reportedly had a violent encounter on campus that was broken up by several visiting University of North Carolina lacrosse players. An unnamed former student told the New York Daily News that the couple's breakup had been precipitated by an incident in which a drunken Huguely attacked Love and later couldn't recall having hit her.

..................

In 2007 he was charged with underage possession of alcohol in Florida, where his family has a $2 million vacation home. The following year he was arrested for public intoxication and resisting arrest outside a fraternity house at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va. After shouting obscenities and threats and scuffling with a female officer, he was finally subdued by Taser -- though, remarkably, he had no recollection of the incident later. "He was by far the most rude, most hateful and most combative college kid I ever dealt with," arresting officer Rebecca Moss told The New York Times last week. Huguely received a 60-day suspended sentence and six months' probation, was fined and was required to perform community service and take a substance-abuse course. He was also required to disclose the arrest to the University of Virginia. He did not.

Huguely also demonstrated obsessive behavior toward women besides Love. A fourth-year UVA student told SI last week that earlier this year Huguely approached her at Boylan Heights and obtained her phone number. "He was cute, and he was charming when he was sober," she says. But before they met in person again, Huguely bombarded her with text messages, sometimes as many as 20 in one hour -- "never before 3 a.m.," she says -- asking to come to her apartment. "I'm kind of freaked out right now," she says."

"In 2006, then a senior as Landon School in Bethesda, Md., Huguely was interviewed by the Washington Post where he expressed sympathy for the Duke lacrosse players caught up in a sex scandal that later proved to be false. Several of the men in the Duke scandal attended Landon.

"They've been scrutinized so hard and no one knows what has happened yet. In this country, you're supposed to be innocent until proven guilty," he told the Post. "I think that's the way it should be." "

Ironic?

They might be fags, but they still know how to treat a woman.

"UVA women's lacrosse honors slain teammate in first game since death

Love was present everywhere at the University of Virginia's Klockner Stadium on Sunday -- in the stands, over the loudspeaker and on the field.

"One Team; One Heart; One Love," read the warm-up T-shirts that members of the school's women's lacrosse team wore. Spectators waved a sign reading "No. 1 Yeardley in our hearts." At the end of the game, as the team celebrated its 14-12 victory over Towson University, the song "Believe" by Cher played over the stadium sound system.

Its lyrics: "Do you believe in life after love?"

The tribute was in honor of slain teammate Yeardley Love, the 22-year-old senior found dead in her off-campus apartment on May 3. A former boyfriend and member of the school's men's lacrosse team, George Huguely, has been charged with first-degree murder in her death."

What an awful tribute.

Especially because didn't the guy kill her after they broke up?

As in, this guy DIDN'T believe in life after love, so he killed her in an accidental rage?

LOL @ his lawyer.

Goerge already admitted that repeated slammed her head against the wall.

How does slamming ones head repeatedly against the wall an 'accident'?

Well I haven't really read anything beyond what I saw on day 1, but the impression I get is he meant to shake her, and accidentally hit her head against the wall and killed her.

I think the accident is in the result, not the action.

^^^ agreed

^^ that's what his lawyer is arguing

he didn't intend to kill her ... it will probably be second degree murder instead of first

Basically, right now his attorneys and family are probably praying that this is determined second-degree murder instead of first degree murder. At this time, it seems they have a fair argument that this is murder in the second degree.

HOWEVER, the seized computers/emails/texts could prove otherwise. If there are messages that show that Huguely threatened Love's life in a premeditated way, then he'll be charged with first degree murder.

Considering that he stole her laptop after the murder, I think it's very likely that there were some incriminating emails that make it look premeditated.

All it takes is one text or email saying, "I'm going to kill you," for it to become first degree murder.

I'm very curious to see what the investigation will reveal.

Hyperbole (pronounced /ha?'p?rb?li/, from ancient Greek ?pe?ß??? 'exaggeration'), is a rhetorical device in which statements are exaggerated. It may be used to evoke strong feelings or to create a strong impression, but is not meant to be taken literally.

Hyperboles are figures of speech that are exaggerated in order to create emphasis or effect. Hyperbole is a literary device often used in poetry, and is frequently encountered in casual speech. On occasion, newspapers and other media use hyperbole when speaking of an accident, to increase the impact of the story. This is more often found in tabloid newspapers, which often exaggerate accounts of events to appeal to a wider audience.
