well if you live in NYC, you probably are more used to measuring distances in blocks or train stops or some other nonstandard unit of measurement, rather than miles...so since the story came from the Post, it's not entirely unreasonable to put it in that perspective. if i did not run a lot and didnt know distances already pretty well, i would benefit from a local landmark reference to comprehend a distance.

Being a sniper was the whole reason I wanted to join the infantry. However, my recruiter told me that since I'm going in as a commissioned officer I won't be eligable. Shit sucks man
