i have thought about applying to the naval or army jag corps. but i don't know if i can keep my mouth shut (HAHAHA). but seriously, i think i'd have trouble putting up with/brushing off disrespect based on my gender. i really want to apply but it worries me that i'm often unable to be the bigger person and just let shit go. i'm also worried about sexual harassment. i'm sure it doesn't happen as often as it seems......or does it? i still might apply. well i've already started applying so i guess we'll just see where it takes me.

just ignore it. put your nose to the grindstone and work hard for your next promotionand btw, im under the impression that you're enlisted. there is nothing wrong with that but going in at a higher level (officer? i dont know what it wold be in the marines) is a little different. you're in a position of authority and could encounter less of the bullshit.if i were you, i'd be working for that upper level and pull yourself out of the enlisted cesspool that is probably driving you crazy

I went enlisted because I was under the impression that Officers in the Corp were nothing but paper pushers. I wanted a little bit more excitement. I wanted 5 more years to travel and see the world with very little responsiblity. Now I kind of regret it. I was orignally supposed to be an intelligence specialist. I went in for my security brief and couldn't get a Top Secret Clearence because I have some debt (school loans, creidt cards and a few other things). Since I was disqualified from the intel program I was moved to data systems. I shall spend the next 5 years sitting in front of computer...

^ to that quoteSo you joined the god damn Marines and thought you would get a free respect pass because you were a chick? Then enlisting instead of going OCS (wtf right there) because you thought it'd be more exciting...officers can have much more fun than enlisted guys. My dad has told me many stories of wrecked Officer Clubs in his day I will say that if you survive the enlisted ranks and then move into the officer ranks, you will have more respect of your subordinates since you know where they are coming from. Anyway, you gotta put up or shut up. You aren't going to get the respect of your fellow Marines if you're going to act like a little bitch, especially since you're a woman. The women I knew in the Marines were some of the most hardass cunts out there because they had to be.If you can't do that, drop out and join the Air Force or Navy. There's a reason why the Marines are "the few, the proud".[/beating off]
