talked to my dentist today.took an xray and all that jazz...my tmj has progressively gotten worse since i made this thread, and i started to not think its completely anxiety related, and the dentist agrees.since my teeth are so freaking short and little - my wisdom tooth that is coming in is already taller than my other teethresult, my jaw doesnt clamp down all the way and it constantly tense more-or-less.that and my overbite is screwed. i may have to get braces again this actually may be contributing to my anxiety toowell ill be damned.[Edited on August 17, 2010 at 12:05 AM. this may seem really counter intuitive or even counter productive, but when my girlfriend tells me that ive been grinding my teeth for several nights in a row, i start taking a lot of sudafed before bed, namely alegraD-12 hour. for most people, it would make them amped up and twitchy, but with me im used to this stimulant, and with the easier breathing, i grind my teeth less. also i grind my teeth less if i sleep on my stomach, which i can't do unless i can breath through my nose well. then i wake up and take another allegraD and smoke a cigarette....two great appetite suppressants. i never eat breakfast.

^he's recommending me to a surgeon.the only reason i havent gotten them removed yet is that the root is A LOT deeper than what he's normally used to...and he is not gonna play with it.

No surprise there either. My father has gotten to where he refers a lot of difficult extractions to oral surgeons. It can really wear his arm out if he has to struggle with a long and convoluted root, and he has more pressing needs he can address for patients that fit wihin his general dentistry focus better[Edited on August 17, 2010 at 9:23 AM. See about getting botox. Some doctors are prescribing it to treat TMJ.

went back to the dentist today and he sanded it down a bit for me. (he had to replace a filling)he was concerned enough about me that he went ahead and made my appointment for me to get the tooth taken out (i have now realized the reason he will not extract it is because the root is shaped like a fish hook-its crazy!)i either could go thursday or next friday.due to school i decided on next friday >.< (i cant really miss that many days with me going to paris and all so i had to...long story, but i miss less this way...well actually more classes but the way its set up thats the day i wanna miss, trust me )..plus i get the weekend to recover however while sanding it down relieved the pressure quite a bit, its still hurting really, really freaking bad. its starting to give me tension headaches (JEEEEZ THEY HURT)this is really , really bad ya'll. i would have never ever thoguh it would hurt THIS bad
8/17/2010 10:22:20 PM
My dentist gave me three choices...wearing a retainer "night guard", jaw surgery, or getting braces again even though I have straight teeth...I took the night guard option and it has helped me a lot...

Not trying to go to the doctor, but I think I have at minimum a bruised rib, and possibly a cracked oneBasically I was diving for a catch during tailgating, and I dove over a chair and kind of landed with all my weight on the back of the chair, all on like my 2nd rib from the bottom on the right side...I felt some sharp pain, but I didn't think too much of it at the time, as I had a little buzz going on...but its still sore as fuck, and it hurts if I roll over on that side, cough too hard, inhale too deeply, etcI don't think I did any damage to any organs, but I'm trying to figure out how bad I fucked up my rib(s)I'm just going to assume that I'll have to deal with some pain but it will heal itself over the next couple weeks]

8/23/2010 3:32:35 PM
Pussy? NoWearing pads to play catch at a tailgate would make you the biggest sopping cunt in the history of mankind
8/23/2010 3:34:54 PM
agreed, although i think it would be ok up until the age of 6 or 7i saw some little kid at tailgate wearing a panthers helmet...but he was a little kid so he got a pass]

Joie....I've ground through about 4 or 5 of them. Started out with the softer material ones then my dentist started using heavy duty plastic material. Those fuckers are expensive and there's no solution to not grinding through em. I've had to get veneers put on my teeth because of my grinding and my dentist told me the only REAL way to fix (or at least make it a lot better) would be to have serious surgery where they'd have to break my jaw, reset it, and then have braces on for a couple years (mind you this would be my second round for braces). So I opted to not take that option and deal with grinding and tmj problems as they come.It would def be a dentist that you would see...(or I suppose an oral surgeon of some kind). I don't know about you but apparently my grinding was so bad before I wore a mouthguard, that it would wake my dad from a sound sleep from the other side of the house and it sounded like a chainsaw. I've never heard this noise of course so I'll just have to believe my parents.I believe stress can play a big role in it but I'm not sure the best way to alleviate that....clearly I haven't figured it out yet
