any other thoughts? most of this thread was about looking for dick, so it'd be nice to hear something besides that.

I'd pick DC. I spent a little under a week in SanFran and was just wholly unimpressed.[Edited on June 8, 2010 at 11:42 PM. Reason : Like, I have zero interest in ever going back]
6/8/2010 11:42:02 PM
ok, but why?
6/8/2010 11:42:33 PM
i guess you have the option of moving to one of the two?
6/8/2010 11:43:29 PM
i don't know yet, to be honest.
6/8/2010 11:44:47 PM
this thread is premature

Fisherman's Wharf was neat, but it seems like an "oh hey, I've seen it" type deal, there were bums and hookers everywhere, and the whole city just didn't seem to have any charm to it.Just a ton of hills.Hills and hookers. Those are my San Francisco memories.
6/8/2010 11:48:52 PM
^^ no it's not. the possibility exists, so i'm asking questions. it doesn't cost anyone anything to share their opinions, and i'd appreciate hearing them.[Edited on June 8, 2010 at 11:49 PM. Reason : .][Edited on June 8, 2010 at 11:50 PM. Reason : ^ where else did you visit in the city?]

his is not even up for debate.San FranciscoI have never heard anything good about living in DC- Its full of jackass politicians- Supposedly in the social scene everyone is really clicky- Crime- Horrendous traffic- Tourists are as bad as a damn beach town- Fuck the RedSkins- Your basketball team is called the Wizards

^^ Yeah that basically sums up San Fran.
6/9/2010 12:06:53 AM
Never been to SF but I've heard great things. I haven't been to DC since a middle school field trip and I certainly wasn't paying attention to the right kinds of things then to judge a living situation. Since all my family & friends are scattered across NC (and a little bit of family in VA) I might be tempted to do DC if I had to choose. Not to mention CA's economy is falling apart. And for all those saying go SF for the gay, I'd point out gay couples can be legally married in DC, but not in CA.
6/9/2010 12:18:20 AM
SF is beautiful, but only if you can afford it. housing there is the most expensive in the nation.otherwise you just wind up living out in the burbs.
6/9/2010 1:28:52 AM
fags or crack heads.I'm AstralAdvent and i approved this message.
6/9/2010 1:29:53 AM
SF isn't even the gay mecca it used to be anymore
6/9/2010 1:30:57 AM
DC is closer to Raleigh, so probably there, but I do know someone who lives in San Francsico
6/9/2010 1:31:00 AM
The gay Mecca is now key west lol.

I'd rather live in DC than SanFran.Californians generally annoy the shit out of me.
6/9/2010 9:34:29 AM
as someone who has lived in SE DC for 6 years and traveled to SF numerous times, both are pretty great places if you dont live way out in the suburbs. not to shit on NC, because it's got its highlights, and it's nice knowing its there on occasion, but it really doesnt compare to either place.
6/9/2010 9:49:37 AM
I can see benefits of both, however I've lived in SF and only been to DC so I'd pick SF. Seems way safer too.

you'd also need to decide whether you'd rather watch tim lincecum or stephen strasburg make batters look stupid
6/9/2010 10:49:21 AM
"if you like blacks, go with DCif you like gays asians, go with SF"specifically berkely.Just trying to compare apples to apples here.or if you like blacks you could just cross the bridge to oakland.[Edited on June 9, 2010 at 10:54 AM. Reason : .]

The only city on the East Coast that offers more than SF in terms of diversity, culture, and beauty is NYC. I guess you could make a case for Boston as well, but DC is not even worth mentioning. DC reminds me a lot more of LA in the sense that everything is centered around politics and government in the same way that everyone in LA works for the entertainment industry and won't shut up about it. If you really love that kind of scene, I can see why DC would be appealing. For those of you who've never been to SF, I really think you're missing out. It's one of the most unique cities in the world. It's certainly not a place for everyone and I can understand why people wouldn't want to live here, but there is nothing ordinary about it.

6/9/2010 1:57:51 PM
^^yeah they do. And NYC IS a beautiful city.^Central Park isn't even the biggest park in NYC.lol[Edited on June 9, 2010 at 2:03 PM. Reason : trouble with carets]
6/9/2010 1:57:54 PM
DC is a lot of things, but it's not prettier than NYC and it's certainly not prettier than SF.
6/9/2010 2:02:02 PM
DC is more likely to have a nuke dropped on it.SF is more likely to have a earthquake/tsunami occur and be underwater.I guess it depends on how agonizing you prefer your death.

I don't get why everyone thinks SF has this amazing weather. I lived there for 2 years and it was either raining, foggy, or cold and windy. Weather in the fall can get pretty nice, but I'd hardly call it a selling point. SF is awesome though, the mission has the best burritos EVER.
