7/25/2010 8:24:24 PM
Chit Chat's fair game, son.
7/25/2010 8:26:22 PM
If you buy bottled water, you are killing babies.
7/25/2010 8:26:54 PM
Plain and simple. If you don't subscribe to that shit, then don't drink bottled water.
7/25/2010 8:27:26 PM
Nobody should be drinking water that doesn't kill babies.

Because I'm out, managed to not have a bottle handy, and am thirsty as fuck. Pretty simple.Or, as was the case in may, I bought a 6pack of bottled water solely for the bottles (the deer park flip cap business is VERY handy when driving (cross-country), as opposed to the screw-off lid on my reusable bottles that do fit my cup holders.)
7/25/2010 8:36:51 PM
I think they add shit to bottled water to make it taste better. But whatever. I like it.

^^^ I don't think it's bad to buy bottled water for the bottle. My grandparents do that.As for well water, you do have a point about that. However, anyone who uses well water should have it tested often. Obviously, if people have water from the tap that isn't healthy to drink, bottled water is a viable alternative.
7/25/2010 9:57:38 PM
if the question is "why buy bottled water?"the ONLY correct answer is "because I am in Mexico"
7/25/2010 10:16:22 PM
^ HAHAH. Yeah. I had to buy bottled water in China. But I'm referencing here in the US, where it's rare to actually need to buy bottled water.
7/25/2010 10:24:57 PM
This bottled water is so delicious
7/26/2010 11:48:32 AM
I used to buy bottled water regularly and the only reason is because I was too lazy to get a glass of ice and fill it with tap water. I've stopped though because it's a complete waste of $ and plastic.
7/26/2010 11:55:35 AM
Only time I buy it is if I'm out somewhere that sells bottled drinks, thirsty, and not in the mood for soda/tea/juice. I have a brita at home. I swear it makes the water taste better, though my tap water tastes OK anyway. More importantly it keeps the water cold.I take a nalgene to work. Fill it from the water fountain, which produces nice cold neutral-tasting water. Take it home every few days and stick it in the dishwasher. No, it doesn't fit in my cup holder, but I also usually bring coffee in a travel mug in the morning, so I can rinse that and fill it with water on my way home.Simple and cost-effective.

I keep a glass fifth sized vodka bottle that I keep full of water in my fridge. Every couple of weeks it goes in the dishwasher. I've had that bottle for probably 6 or 7 years now. Glass > Plastic. For the road I have a bunch of Nalgene bottles. I only bought one or two at REI. All the rest were thrift store finds @ $.50 or less except for one that I found while out biking. I always pack a cooler when I take a trip, so I'll fill five or six Nalgenes with water and throw them in too. There is a Nalgene size that fits snugly in your car's cupholder. It's 16 oz iirc. Nalgene bottles have caps, so it's really not that important for it to fit in your cupholder anyway. Just set it on the seat or within reach on the floor.Bottled water is a waste. With a little planning I don't see why anyone needs to buy more than a few bottles per year.[Edited on July 26, 2010 at 12:19 PM. Reason : l]

I buy it because there's no water fountains around here and I'm too forgetful to remember to bring my water from home
7/26/2010 12:31:02 PM
The Nalgenes make great shaker bottles for protein shakes and pre-workout supplements too. Also great for pre-mixed liquor drinks to take on the boat or just to chug at the car before you go in the club.+1[Edited on July 26, 2010 at 12:39 PM. Reason : l]

I actually like evian for its taste. i rarely buy it though.
7/26/2010 12:40:18 PM
I remember filling a glass of water from the sink of my brothers house in wilmington when he came and said "Yeahhhhhhhh, I test that water for a living. You should really run that through some kind of filter". I drank it anyways
7/26/2010 12:46:14 PM
7/26/2010 12:51:57 PM
Because there's a ton of copper in my tap water.
7/26/2010 12:53:30 PM
tap water in rocky mount doesn't taste good. we use bottled water or the filtered water from the fridge...but i'll still drink out of the hose while working in the yard oh, eastern nc bbq is way better.[Edited on July 26, 2010 at 1:19 PM. Reason : ]

I only drink bottled water when I travel to nations with bad water. It's an easy way to make sure you stay healthy when traveling.
7/26/2010 3:02:50 PM
I steal all of my bottled water. I want to hurt the water bottlers, but still want to drink premium water.
7/26/2010 3:04:50 PM

7/26/2010 3:05:08 PM
I'm the Che of bottled water bandits.
7/26/2010 3:05:49 PM
I buy bottled water and refill each bottle with tap water a few times before throwing it out so Im half and halfing it I suppose
7/26/2010 3:06:17 PM
My attitude is as long as I don't get the shits, it's good enough for me.
7/26/2010 3:36:30 PM
There's a multitude of countries where getting the shits would seem pleasant compared to what you'd end up with.

^^ For instance, Fiji, where you would get typhoid for drinking the local water.
7/26/2010 4:19:46 PM
The bottles are convenient on long road trips to fill back up
