So what is the etiquette for traffic building up when a car breaks down? In theory it should zipper in from front to back to give people in the back room to start moving and zipper in. IRL everyone in the back speeds into breaks first and then almost slam into the people in front of the line trying to merge in.[Edited on October 29, 2010 at 2:49 PM. Reason : asdf]

none of this will ever be corrected. you can't control that angry bitch who'll just pull to the next lane over out of frustration from being unable to handle stressful situations and cause a wreck.

i used to never get road rage, but the asshole in the yellow car cutting in pisses me off to no end, every morning. if you are guilty of this you should have your driving privileges revoked. there's no oopsing in this situation, you know exactly what you are doing.

What about the etiquette for four lanes meting down to a one lane-on the shoulder?Btw, I am typically the asshole but I make sure to give a hyper 'Thanks!' wave everytime. Then all is forgiven!

There are only 2 kinds of drivers, idiots and assholes. The guy shooting ahead to cut in the front is an asshole, but you’re the idiot who lets him in or lined up as the ass-end of the line.So pick your poison: being an idiot or being an asshole.
