In high school, I worked in a restaurant where the manager impregnated 5 of his waitresses all around the same time. Now all the kids (3 girls, 2 boys) are in the same 7th grade class together. And since he hasn't been around since he was transferred to a new restaurant after they were all born, they don't know that they are all half brothers/sisters. Their mothers never told them. But they are getting to the age were they are interested in the opposite sex. It is a hilarious scenario to be on the outside looking in at.

^that's hilariously fake but would make for a great fucked up comedy

Sounds fake, right?I should send his story to Maury.

i have been on both sides of the situation. and the only time it didnt work out was because the guy i dated was overly jealous and had to be with me 24/7 (which was ultimately our demise)the thing is (this of course is my opinion), if you break up b/c of this then it's a cop out and you shouldn't be together in the first
11/3/2010 11:55:09 AM
Good looking waitresses earn bigger tips by flirting a little. If you can deal with that, then besides the crazy schedule, they aren't anymore fucked up then the average fuck up.

I dated a girl who worked at a chain restaurant. It was a chain but was owned by an independent franchisee. The owner was never around, and apparently like 75% of the staff were lifers even though they were all 22-28 years old.I would go in there at night around 10 (they closed at 12) and just hang at the bar drinking 5-6 beers and only paying for one. After the restaurant closed, the employees would haphazardly rearrange things in the restaurant so it would appear that they were cleaning, but most of it was completely unsanitary. She would always be at work until 3 or 4 AM, but not because closing took a long time. After the place closed, everyone would meet back in the kitchen where they would break out a large supply of cocaine. This was always paid for through restaurant funds because these people were smart and knew how to embezzle. The restaurant made a lot of money so it's not like it would appear suspicious, but they were basically stealing money from the capitalist so the proletarian workers could feel good about their alienating work. All of the employees and their significant others would be back there from like 1 -3 AM, doing coke and having a ball. The kitchen staff, especially, were huge cokeheads. It was all good, though, because I'd always skim some into a small bag so I could get jacked up for work in the morning. It's easy to stay up until 4 AM when you're banging lines and a hot girl. It's also easy to get going when the alarm goes off at 7 if you do 2 lines before breakfast.Anyways, like I said, they only haphazardly cleaned the place, and never really did their due diligence in following the health codes. Everything was fine.. until the outbreak of hepatitis. The owner fired everyone. So my girlfriend lost her job and that wasn't funny because we were both hooked on drugs but we were out of money.[Edited on November 3, 2010 at 12:00 PM. Reason : .]

I dated (still dating same one) a bartender while I was still an early morning barista. Even after we moved in together, I would get up at five and get off work around two and then he would go into work at two and come home around three or four. We were physically only in the house together for an hour or two a lot of days. It makes the time you can spend together a lot more awesome but you have to be pretty secure. He's not a bartender any more though and I'm working on not being a barista.

My wife is a cocktail waitress at Goodnights and has been since I met her. There were never any issues. While we were dating she would meet me out downtown after her shift. We would party and then head back to my place for late night and sleepover. She was and still is a full-time student so her days were busy. It was a good mix of quality time but not feeling too smothered. There were never any trust issues becasue I would generally meet her after her shifts for a few drinks. Now she just comes home after her shift so no big deal. Also, she was only working 2 or 3 nights a week. Its not a big deal. (p.s. currently my wife is in school full-time, cocktail waitresses at Goodnights part-time, has a full-time 8-4 job and is on the Board of Directors and Volunteer Coordinator for a local non-profit so she stays busy as fuck!!)

stop rubbing your hot wife in our faces sparky!jk, that's awesome man..you seem like one of the rare success stories.

I dated one a while back but eventually found out that every night after 2am she would do a ton of coke while they were closing up.Ultimately she left me for her highschool boyfriend and was pregnant 2 weeks later. The last thing I ever said to her was "It's not my bastard, is it?"I don't know if her behavior was due to being a bartender or a Peace girl.

My gf was a waitress for a while. It sucked. I'd have a day off and she'd be working or vice versa. Weekends usually mean the most tips for wait staff so she would want to work then but she would feel like she was missing out on all the fun stuff that her friends were doing that day. She would work kind of late on most nights and then want to do something afterward, but I would be getting ready for bed or already in bed by that time.

I used to date a bar-tender. She worked the job full time after graduating community college b/c she couldn't find real work. Mind you this was in a little town where I grew up. I'm not much of the jealous or controlling type, but it got old hearing about all the guys that were hitting on her and throwing out mad cash to impress her. It also sucked to watch her put slutty clothes on before work so she could go swindle money from a bunch of drunk rednecks. Then when I'd hear about fights at the bar it would piss me off because I wasn't there to make sure she was OK. We dated for several months though and I let all that stuff slide and we both had a pretty honest, laid back relationship..... until I found out she was fucking a cop on the side. Stupid cunt!!!! - Long story short, don't try to seriously date a bartender. They have that job because they can't commit to a normal life and just want to party/flirt/fuck all the time.

^^.True, didn't mean to stereotype.....but.....in my experience the majority of bar tenders I know enjoy living a completely carefree life void of major responsibilities. I know people like this in other professions, but it is a much smaller ratio.* Also, I think I'm starting to realize that super hot, party chicks are never worth it in the end It's a tough pill to swallow........[Edited on November 3, 2010 at 4:16 PM. Don't confuse choosing not to live a 9-to-5 lifestyle with a desire to shirk responsibility. For example, consider a surgeon who works ~20 hours a week and may do all of their work in the middle of the night. ]
11/3/2010 4:20:38 PM
^ Comparing the jobs of a medical surgeon and the bitch that fills my beers up is laughable
11/3/2010 4:23:57 PM
I'm just saying, you're talking about two sets of people who work relatively small amounts of hours and sleep all day.Mostly, I just think the idea that a 9-to-5 and a house is "normal" is bullshit. There is no normal.

Its very similar to dating someone in retail.they have shitty hours, and probably hate their job.
11/3/2010 7:39:16 PM
i've done it, and it was pretty fucking awful. but i'm pretty sure the relationship would have still ended in disaster because he was a big fucking mess himself. coming home to him drunk at 5pm because he worked the morning/afternoon shift was never fun. When my parents (mom and stepdad), stepdad worked a roofing job so it wasn't very stable hours and my mom worked at a law office. They decided to open a bar together, but they wouldn't work all the same nights. They owned the bar for a very long time and ended up getting married. Still married, and I don't see them getting a divorce at all. Oh and he also went to school during that time. Now they both work normal "9-5" (in reality it's like 6-3 and 7-whenever her paralegal appointments are over) and things are fine. All that being said, the stress they had was through the roof.In my case, the first summer esstover had his internship, I was a barista. We didn't want to be together all the time, but my hours were all over the place compared to his that it did suck.

11/3/2010 10:47:22 PM
Someone accidentally ingesting guano.
11/3/2010 10:48:02 PM
On a side note, has anyone here ever asked out a waitress while they were serving you and had it work?
11/4/2010 12:00:46 AM

11/4/2010 12:14:02 AM

^^^I've always understood that to be sort of against the rulesyour waitress is totally defenseless, since she's not really allowed to be rude to you...also, she has to talk to scores of guys a day, and if they all asked her out it would probably really get on her nervesthat's how I've always viewed it...but what do I know]
