While we're on the topic of movies from the 80s, anyone who hasn't seen War Games should GIT OUT
12/15/2010 2:12:59 PM
i liked that when i was a kid.i can imagine it would be painful to watch now.

I was met with this same reaction when I told people I hadn't seen the movie, so I looked it up online and it sounds really stupid. But I really like Jeff Bridges, so I may watch anyway.
12/16/2010 12:00:55 PM
I could see why people who would watch it for the 1st time today wouldn't like it. When it first came out most people didn't have a computer at home, much less work with one at their workplace.
12/16/2010 12:04:10 PM
the original movie is seriously dated. it only has value for historians and comic book neckbeards. Jeff Bridges is young and dorky and not impressive. the characters have no development, the plot is weak. but if all you want is to be overloaded with flashy computer animation from 1982 , then maybe you'll dig it.

I remember when Tron came out...I was 4...it wasn't something I understood or cared to see...I wanted to go see E.T. instead...I was 6 when we got a satellite dish and it came out on The Disney Channel...it scared me so I decided not to ever watch it...this is probably because around the same time in my life I had a nightmare that my Speak-n-Spell tried to kill me, so I was pretty much terrified of anything involving computers
12/16/2010 12:17:45 PM
I have no interest in seeing the original, but will go see this one... side note, watching an interview of Bridges- he seems more and more like the Dude in real life the older he gets
12/16/2010 12:20:05 PM
i had never heard of tron until very recently.which is bad because I'm a 3D animator and supposedly this movie was revolutionary for its time or something?::shrug::
12/16/2010 12:20:08 PM
I remember they played the fuck out of this movie on HBO for years. that's where i saw so many movies.
12/16/2010 12:20:32 PM
12/16/2010 12:25:49 PM
I watched the original TRON last night for the first time. I enjoyed it.
12/16/2010 3:01:44 PM
But have you ever watched TRON... on weeeeeeeeeeeeeeed?
12/16/2010 4:46:39 PM
I had never heard of it. I think it was made for boys and esp. geeky ones.
12/16/2010 5:02:49 PM
i had heard of it, didn't know what it wasdoesn't look like anything i'd have cared about back whenever it was popular
12/16/2010 5:04:48 PM
I do have a small recollection of possibly watching part of it at some point as my dad had it recorded on VHS. But I'm not entirely sure. But I'm still excited for this one and plan to see it in Imax
12/16/2010 5:07:46 PM
I have no interest in seeing the original, but will go see this one... nor the new one either
12/16/2010 5:09:07 PM

12/16/2010 5:47:14 PM
12/16/2010 5:47:42 PM
^^ I'm guessing most of these kids are too young to be privy to the awesomeness that was scifi movies of the early 80s.
12/16/2010 5:49:25 PM
I wasnt around in the early 70s but I know of movies that were around then and earlier.Shit came on ALL the time on HBO, the fucking arcade games stuck around forever
12/16/2010 5:57:19 PM
is 27 and 31 too young? Cause my (27) memory is fuzzy, and my brother (31) doesn't recall seeing it at all, but we've certainly HEARD of the movie (and heard of it b4 this 2nd one). I don't think that's too young; we were just interested in other things at the time and haven't gotten around to it since then.[Edited on December 16, 2010 at 6:01 PM. Reason : ]

12/16/2010 6:10:11 PM
28 yrs old. heard of it. never saw it. I do have the slightest memory of the bikes though.
12/16/2010 6:54:38 PM
31 too young??Once what this crap was explained to me, I think they had it at the epcot center when we were kids, but we didn't know what it was. They had M.Jackson and that was the bomb!and 3D stuff!!srsly NEVER ever even heard of this Tron before.
12/16/2010 6:59:07 PM
26 and I've seen it several times. I too am surprised at the amount of people my age who have never even heard of the original.
12/16/2010 7:05:50 PM
if you stepped into an arcade before 2000 you probably saw a Tron game
12/16/2010 9:25:34 PM
