legally incorrect being what, a drop of alcohol?Obviously its something that should be at the descretion of the individual, as 2 pints of beer will affect a 110lb female a lot more than a 200lb male...not to mention how strong the beer is...

if i drank 2 beers on my lunch break and got pulled over, the chances are pretty solid that i would blow a .08they take you downtown for that because it's against the law...it doesn't matter that i could probably drink twice that and be completely fine to drivethat's my point[Edited on March 29, 2011 at 4:29 PM. Reason : i've been there, done that...]

Annnnd I could drink 2 beers and not be anywhere close to a 0.08?
3/29/2011 4:31:08 PM
yeah...you'd be fine...that's why i said "many instances"i didn't say EVERY SINGLE TIME[Edited on March 29, 2011 at 4:36 PM. Reason : they teach you how to be better drunks in alcohol class]

yeah 2 beers isn't gonna make anyone blow a 0.08

i think it's ok as long as you don't overdo it, but my company does not agree

a friend of mine just got a DUI last week. She had two beers and drove an hour later. got pulled and blew a .09 but she also weights 110lbs and was probably drinking strong beer (she likes the good stuff)...just sayin
3/29/2011 4:51:24 PM
yeah...i don't doubt that at all...and it's like i told TKE-Teg over IM...i don't argue this because i think drinking is bad...anybody who knows me knows i think drinking is awesome...but drinking and driving fucked me out of 2 years worth of my life and money...so i will argue the semantics of it all day

I like this idea....even more when the Durham Bulls start playing and have day games I can just go out our doors to the game since we're on the 1st level

i was clearly talking about myself when i said that 2 beers is a long way from under the influence. i really don't care that some of you can't handle your alcohol, its not my problem.

having a beer at lunch on a workday is alrightI'd say 2 is too many unless you're with a client and THEY order a secondpersonally, I like the way the rest of world does ithave a beer but order the small glass (half-pint, whatev)

I think if it doesn't affect your work, then do what you feel like doing- unless, of course, they say don't do it (I know people who aren't supposed to but do anyway, and I wouldn't do that). I personally have never done it (well, I had 2-3 beers one day with lunch when I was going in to work by myself at 4, but that really doesn't count), but that is because I usually just don't feel like it and would rather wait until after work(this doesn't include 8squared, which was a whole different beast)

It's all about the atmosphere and culture of the office you work in. Where I work now, I wouldn't dream of doing it because it's a very conservative company culture.I went out to lunch often in San Francisco with the Pac Region SVP and we often times had two or three drinks at lunch and went back to work if there were no meetings the rest of the day.

Glad this came up. At my last job I only did it the last day I worked. Kinda thought I'd get in trouble and all, esp. because being able to drive to job sites was a part of my job. My new job though does not, and the last couple times I've been out to lunch with the boss and crew (we can walk to lunch so no issues there either), my boss has specifically said he'd be cool with us having 1 or 2 with lunch. Still felt like it could be taken the wrong way, so I have yet to do it.

When I worked at Raleigh Grande Movie Theater I used to drink on the Job.
