I have some Fat Tires in the fridge (not gonna lie) but I have not opened one up in a month or so. Just been too busy between work and radio geek stuff. I have not missed it. I guess I just echo Saps when he said:

I will be buying beer this week. Four straight games at Fenway, $Texas beersFtl.[Edited on May 1, 2011 at 6:50 PM. Reason : I occasionally sip scotch, but not really a liquour drinker][Edited on May 1, 2011 at 6:50 PM. Reason : Grr]

So no one likes the hard stuff?
5/1/2011 6:48:16 PM
your mom likes the hard stuff. she also likes people who can spell correctly in their thread titles
5/1/2011 7:09:37 PM
oh fuck - mom and spelling smack. You sir, are a king among men.
5/1/2011 7:18:23 PM
knowing is half the battle
5/1/2011 7:19:40 PM
fucking quitting, just cut back
5/1/2011 7:45:10 PM
i am on day 1 of trying to quit smoking weed...not good
5/1/2011 8:07:40 PM
I always rely on another substance to quit a substance. When I lay off the green, I drink, when I lay off the drink I smoke.
5/1/2011 8:10:59 PM
It's illegal or whatever, but you should stick with smoking.
5/1/2011 8:20:20 PM
approximately 48 hours ago I swore I was going to stop drinking until after examsI lasted an entire day. and prank called my friend and then couldn't figure out how to hang up my own phone I might need to go to AA sometime in the future]
5/1/2011 8:23:02 PM
I'm on my 3rd pint of guiness.
5/1/2011 8:25:17 PM
^^ lol thats awesome

I probably go through between a handle and a handle-and-a-half of cheap whiskey each week. I switched to coke zero as a mixer about a year ago, which ameliorated the weight gain somewhat. My issues with quitting have always been boredom and peer pressure. Unfortunately I've established something of an, ah, reputation among my peers, so whenever they're drinking and I'm not, the pressure comes on quickly. Unless I have a clear and immediate reason to refrain, I usually cave in pretty quickly.I've also never really had a compelling reason to stop for any significant length of time. I make good grades. I've never been late to work. I abhor drunk driving and do not do it. Drinking makes me feel genuinely good and does not make me want to fight somebody, start drama, or get all weepy. So whenever someone says that I should cut back, all I can think to say is, "Why?"

why would i quit drinking altogether? i'm neither an alcoholic nor do i consume enough alcohol on a regular basis for it to be "bad" for me, as i have a healthy hepatic system[Edited on May 2, 2011 at 9:37 AM. Reason : as far as i know, anyway]

i've been thinking recently that i have begun to drink too muchi keep saying that i'm gonna stop for a while, but inevitably someone calls me or something and wants me to come out that night...le sigh.i don't ever drink alone, though, except for maybe a beer or two with dinner sometimes... so at least there's that.
5/2/2011 9:42:02 AM
i have maybe 2-4 each night during the week. Depending on the weekend plans it may be 2-4 or 12+.
5/2/2011 9:48:19 AM
5/2/2011 9:52:13 AM
^thisit also helps to have a drip of LR
5/2/2011 9:55:06 AM
I've always had bad hangovers and nothing helps.
5/2/2011 9:55:11 AM
I never feel hungover.
5/2/2011 9:57:42 AM
my weekends of heavy drinking have actually increased over the last 4-6 months since moving uptown within walking distance to some great bars. but they are still only a few times a month. The rest of my nights are usually a few craft beers or some cheap drafts at a knights or checkers game. but yeah, hangovers are a lot less common now that i don't drink trash.
5/2/2011 10:00:03 AM
I'm in this boat:
5/2/2011 10:03:21 AM
I'm off - will reboot tomorrow.
5/2/2011 10:07:59 PM
pat we're talking about real drinking, not three beers at the saucer drinking
5/2/2011 10:19:35 PM
my memory is terrible. i thought maybe i had ADD or something, but i think i might have really drank myself retarded. i don't really drink often, but the once a week or every other week, i drink a ton. i used to be kinda smart, and witty, and athletic. now i'm slow, and an asshole, and unmotivated to do shit. oh well. i can always quit later.
5/2/2011 10:20:06 PM
I quit getting drunk on weekdays. Going to the bar every day was making my bank account
5/2/2011 10:22:14 PM
I've cut back considerably. Was drinking a couple of glasses a day. Now I'm buzzed from half a glass. You def save a little money from cutting back, which is a huge plus. I cut back mostly bc the girls I hung out with a year ago are either pregnant or trying to get pregnant, so they don't drink. It's amazing how much we end up drinking socially just bc bars are the normal places to go with friends. Now we just do power walks and pool time, for the most part.
5/2/2011 10:40:27 PM
from about halfway up the page, in the Wikipedia list of alcohol withdrawal signs and symptoms, one is "Euphoria". sign me up!in all seriousness as i got older i didn't want to waste my days too hungover to do anything. nowadays i'll maybe have like one delicious high-gravity beer every weekday night, and on weekends i try to control myself. key word: try. always end up seeing an old friend and end up being obnoxious with them.
5/2/2011 10:49:54 PM
I wish I could cut back - tonight was a fail to the max.
5/2/2011 11:43:47 PM
during schooltime I usually drink at least once a daybut I cut back in the summer due to less stress
5/3/2011 12:43:29 AM
I split a bottle of wine with the girlfriend for every dinner we cook. If no wine, then a beer or two.I don't, however, binge on weekend nights off. I'll add a couple more drinks to the total (so maybe 5 or 6 on my "big" nights)...but I just don't go big time that much anymore. It still happens, but more like once or twice a month instead of once or twice a week like it did in law school (and the first couple years afterwards).Slowly turning into a grown-up....
5/3/2011 7:32:22 AM
5/3/2011 8:12:08 AM
I usually have a beer or two Thursday and band practice and maybe another one or two on a weekend night and that's about it these days.
5/3/2011 8:13:31 AM
5/3/2011 8:16:47 AM
^lol, that is usually only invoked on special occasions!
5/3/2011 8:47:53 AM
that's because you have the tolerance of a beast. drinking 4-5 nights a week over many many years will do that
5/3/2011 8:48:42 AM
Exactly! Hence, no hangover
5/3/2011 8:52:39 AM
i had 1.5 beers last night. a huge headache came on after my softball game that shut me down for the night.
5/3/2011 9:00:32 AM
I'm kinda brokish at the moment so no beers until Friday. Also the biggest thing for me, I think, is just the whole novelty of getting trashed everytime I drink has worn off. I can stop at just two beers and be okay with that. Most of the time when I get trashed now, it's more of by accident...meaning I'm out with friends and we are having such a great time and I keep ordering another drink I don't realize how trashed I am until I go to lay down in bed and the room starts to spin and I have to run to the bathroom...and then I end up passing out onthe bathroom floor, then I make my way back to bed and then I spend the next two days hating life. Those nights are becoming farther and farther apart now.[Edited on May 3, 2011 at 9:12 AM. 5/3/2011 9:18:51 AM

5/3/2011 9:43:59 AM
i was about to come in here and say that i'm planning on cutting down quite a bit until the wedding....just because i have a lot goin on and stuff, but then i realize somebodys gonna come home this weekend, or theres gonna be a dinner, or just .....something.so i wont
5/3/2011 9:53:53 AM
sometimes i wish i drank enough to say "i need to cut back"... [Edited on May 3, 2011 at 10:13 AM. Reason : i just realized that i go to bada at least once a week and i haven't had a beer there since december]
