^Not sure WTF psych eval you need. I guess I have it because I will eat a big mexican dinner and sometimes my stomach starts roiling and churning and 5 minutes after I get up from dinner I will need to shit so bad I almost can't make it home. I also get the whole one month blowing out diarrhea, the next month constipated thing going. But I don't go crying to the doctor about it. Just know how to deal with it and try to take in plenty of fiber to keep stuff running regular, so I don't get at the extremes. I honestly think a lot of the "triggers" I see people talking about are things make normal people need to shit. A few cups of coffee, and yea sometimes I need to drop a deuce. Stress can fuck up a lot of peoples body. And I love the people that get diagnosed and cry about this are also the ones with made up diseases like chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. By made up I mean that their is no physical proof of them, rather its an issue in the brain or nervous system. Also apparently smoking weed helps treat it, per Wikipedia.[Edited on September 16, 2011 at 9:58 AM. Reason : OMG my stomach hurts I need to smoke up doc!]

That doesn't sound like IBS though. I always consider IBS to be associated with sharp, stabbing stomach pains. If IBS is just a need to use the restroom, then almost every food is a "trigger" food.

IBS is also usually diagnosed when the person has to use the bathroom when they get nervous or anxious. high anxiety can cause a trigger and that's usually the telling sign someone has IBS. food is also a big trigger but anxiety and stress are also very important to note as well.

I sometimes do get the sharp pains. But its not everytime, thank God! That would be terrible.

The reason why you see so many psych disorders with it, IMO, is because you see it with so many other GI conditions, which can cause depression, paranoia, etc.For example, celiac or a gluten intolerance can be associated with IBS and both of those can cause some major psych issuesNot sure if I need to post ITT yet...[Edited on September 16, 2011 at 10:16 AM. Reason : The pysch issues could be arising from your body's reaction to a certain food]

i was kinda thinking it was the other way around - the psych issue causing the shitsi am in no way qualified to make such statementsbut just like anxiety can make your heart race or affect your breathing, perhaps anxiety can affect your bowels

No I think thats part of it, tooBut a big portion is also how certain foods affect your body. For another example, people with celiac or gluten intolerance can cause paranoia - and when people are gluten free they usuall don't have that feeling (I'm sure some still do because of other factors)One issue i have with IBS is also how many people are misdiagnosed with it and might have something more serious going on[Edited on September 16, 2011 at 10:28 AM. And to address the issue of psychological issues associated with IBS... if you had to constantly worry about what you were eating, make sure there was always a bathroom where you were going, couldn't do a lot of activities because of your symptoms, were constantly concerned about the occurrence of symptoms, and had to hide all of this for fear of embarrassment, don't you think you would be subject to depression, higher levels of anxiety, fatigue, or more?[Edited on February 6, 2012 at 3:06 PM.
