^and this is exactly why the US is so far behind the rest of the world soccer powers. I'll give the MLS credit for finally starting acadamies, but they're going to have to start targeting kids at the U-10 level and have some qualified coaches bring these kids through a professional system at a young age in order to catch up. The rec-club>high school>college system in the US needs to become the secondary route if the US is to ever be a serious soccer nation.

Bayern Munich lost season opener due to an error by Neuer. First season opener loss in 10 years and to a team that was nearly relegated last season. Many of the fans there already hate Neuer and this just fanned the flames. Should be an interesting season in the Bundesliga, Bayern were predicted to run away with the league this year due to some new defensive signings and a fully fit squad, but this isn't a good start for them.

I think teams are learning how to defend Robben and Ribery. I like Robben a lot, but he has one goal scoring move and teams are learning how to neutralize it.

Horrible miscommunication from him and Boateng. If you come out though, you HAVE to clear that ball. He didn't trust his defense.

Robben's only move is get out wide right with the ball, cut inside with it on his left foot and shoot near post. He's been intolerable to me after the World Cup.

^ Right, he was killing teams with that last season and early in the WC but it seems about 1/2 way through the tournament teams learned how to defend it and forced him to go right foot, which he never wanted to do.

Also, Germany v Brazil friendly tomorrow, probably the best friendly on the schedule.
