I'm happy to be married and I'm trying to get used to it. I wasn't trying to brag about being married, just honestly wanted to know how long they take to feel normal.

I never took my ring off, even to work out. I started getting a heavy callus on my ring finger from doing pullups and other barbell work. Even after not wearing a ring for several months, the callus is still there.

Joice, people who do the tats and wear a real ring, the tat fades in no time.. i don't know otherwise thats just what I've seen.

I actually wear two now. One is the mokume gane ring from the wedding, similar to: the other is a narrower (60%) 18k simple beveled gold band. The big ring fits my right hand better so my wife made the smaller gold one for my left (the bigger ring is off by a 1/4 size as well). My left hand is used to it more or less, my right (I just started wearing it on the hand a month or so ago) is still getting used to it. It will take a few months to really get used to it depending on the size and width of the ring.

I love a nice thin gold band for a guy.

<--not marriedI've got a gold ring set with a coin which I got from my uncle when I graduated. It was my grandfather's ring, and I've worn it every day since. I'm rocking a kickass ring tan now.

Mine is a 12mm flat black band.

^ bahahahaI'm not married so I can't speak on the ring thing, but watches are the worst. You wanna wear em but they are like little-by-little-slowly-pulling-on-your-arm-hair-time-keepers.

Not yet married, but I wear on my right hand a ring that belonged to my grandfather, which my grandmother gave to me after he passed away. It's not small and occasionally gets mistaken for a class ring (set with a rectangular onyx stone). I think that helped me get used to it--I used to wear my NCSU class ring on that finger, and this one has a somewhat similar feel, though lighter in weight.I don't sleep or shower with it on, and usually take it off at some point after getting home from work, but I don't feel right if I leave the house without wearing it. I imagine with a wedding band it will be like that 10x.

I loathe wearing jewelry of any kind. I don't even wear a watch unless I need to for something specific. I also view jewelry as a stupid waste of money, but that's another discussion.I also do too many things where jewelry would be unsafe, in the way, not allowed, likely to get damaged or lost, or some combination of the above. I'd lose it in no time due to constantly removing it.Since I doubt I'll ever get married, this probably will never be an issue.[Edited on July 1, 2011 at 1:05 AM. Reason : O]

I have a tungsten carbide ring and I love it. I love that I can beat the hell out of it and it doesn't scratch, and it's got a nice heft to it. Titanium is ~. And when I used to work at a jewelry store I had to cut some peoples' fingers rings off with a cutting wheel. That wasn't nerve wracking at all.

I told a lot of guys to leave their rings with their wives when we deployed because if they get killed the medic can take their ring and they legally can sleep with their wives
