Yay! Minka!

So on the previous page, I posted something about 1.5 to 2 days. I actually think it may have been four more days a year that women take over men. I did a very, very quick google, as well, and found an article that compared male and female absenteeism between 1994 and 2006:

just another example of women fighting for equality yet demanding difference when its convenient

Actually, the point is that it's not that simple. There's lots of stuff going on. Here's another weird one:

% of time girls are sick = % of time their man is trying to sex them up

Off the top of my head I can think of more girls I know getting sick or not feeling well on a regular basis than guys. However part of that perception might be created because guys are less willing to admit when they don't feel well.As far as me, outside of hangovers I rarely feel under the weather. I can work from home on occasion so every once in a while if I get a really bad night's sleep (insomnia, not from staying out late partying) or have bad indigestion then I will call in sick if I know there isn't anything pressing going on at work. As far as being sick sick, where I actually need to see a doctor and/or get prescription meds I'd say that happens about once every 3 years.

I haven't been sick for 2-3 years, I can't remember the last time I was. I haven't even had much of a cold, maybe some sniffles in 2010 but nothing to go to the doctor for. I also haven't called into work sick since I've started in Jan 2011. I'll probably piss a few people off with this statement BUT--- I'm so fucking tired of hearing people complain about some disease or ailment they suffer from. Ever notice that there always seems to be some girl, somewhere, who always has something wrong with her. I'm always running into these people and I think mostly they are just attention seekers, people who want someone to coddle them and and give lots of "oh you poor thing". YES WE KNOW IT'S ALLERGY SEASON AND YOU HAVE ALLERGIES, TAKE YOUR MEDICINE AND SHUT UP.Maybe I'm being too judgmental but it's pisses me off when you can't have a conversation with someone without them having to bring up their IBS or some kind of problem with their reproductive organs.

agreed on that.had a coworker that routinely missed 2-3 days per week or work. and all the work they were doing fell on me. they'd come in to do the easy stuff, then let the harder stuff pile up and of course it got to the due date and she hadn't touched it.fortunately she finally decided to quit

I am definitely sick more than anyone around me, but I have the most horrible allergies and other internal issues. The only times I ever call out are when I'm too sick to drive, and that has only been a handful of times. I'm not counting the two weeks I had to take off after my appendix ruptured or the few times I showed up and was told I looked like death and had to go home. I tend to dope myself up and just deal with it.
