i mean i get that the coliseum sucks, but it looks really lame when the a's are playing great baseball and they sell out a friday game because there's fucking star wars fireworks and then the entire upper deck is empty the next night
9/15/2012 10:29:24 PM
couldn't agree with you any morethen again, i'm watching the game from home tonight
9/15/2012 10:30:47 PM
for real, fuck your foul territory. that shit is ridiculous. bring those god damn seats in. i get that stadium quirks are part of baseball, but shit.
9/15/2012 10:38:18 PM
Texas just lost!
9/15/2012 11:35:08 PM
a rangers/yankees play-in game would be so hilarious
9/15/2012 11:46:06 PM
indeed it wouldThe A's are REALLY looking great right now...
9/15/2012 11:59:55 PM
freakin A's. LEAVE BALTIMORE ALONE!!!

avoided the sweep at DET. really need to start winning more games, but matchups against pitchers like sherzer and verlander are tough.Hopefully Bret Anderson can make a comeback before too long?
9/20/2012 5:07:50 PM
solid win today, but I hope this means they'll be playing like this from now onwon't be able to beat yankees and rangers if we play like we did during the first two games of that serieslooking forward to tomorrow
9/20/2012 5:11:37 PM
yeah, given remaining schedules across the AL contenders - the A's really do draw the shorest stick. BAL and NYY get to beat up on BOS and TOR, while we duke it out with TEX and LAA.Unless a miracle happens and we can take the ALWest, I think our best hope is to win the WC2 and try to beat BAL at camden in one friggin game... I just don't see any way the A's win the WC1 unless BAL tanks to vastly weaker competition
9/20/2012 5:16:55 PM
Realistically I think we can take 4/7 from Texas, 1/3 from NYY, and 3/3 from Seattle. That would put us at 93 wins. Sadly, even that might not still be enough. Our only hope for the division is that Texas continues to drop games against LA
9/20/2012 6:46:27 PM
Nailbiter in the Bronx...Come on A's...
9/21/2012 9:57:37 PM
would've been nice if the a's won that game
9/21/2012 10:11:19 PM
yeah, tell me about itit's always difficult to feel 'good' about a loss, but you can't say they didn't play well. Parker was terrific
9/21/2012 10:56:14 PM
Reddick needs to cut the crap and find his swing again. 5-5 in the 11th... Jesus I've been watching this game since 10 am
9/22/2012 5:23:52 PM
Avoided the sweep...Bring on Texas!
9/23/2012 4:56:57 PM
9/26/2012 9:16:03 PM
it's early, but I'll take a 7-3 lead while we've got it
9/26/2012 9:43:36 PM
come on, TX. help out the O's!
9/26/2012 9:46:43 PM
you hush
9/26/2012 9:47:33 PM
maybe I'll just cheer for the A's, and bring that O's luck along with me
9/26/2012 9:48:53 PM
must've worked
9/27/2012 1:11:09 AM
O's pretty much have WC1 locked up with their easy remaining SOS. TB has to hope CWS continues to tank, but they have a pretty tough SOS.A's have got a looong way to go before WC2 feels safe. according to ESPN, "america needs to see mike trout and LAA in the playoffs" Honestly, the best hope we have is that TEX throws games to us and beats LAA for us. You know they would rather see the A's in the playoffs than LAA....
9/27/2012 9:11:20 AM
I think that's pretty pessimistic to be honestIf they continue playing like they did last night, I think they'll win the division.Texas is GOOD, but they aren't THAT GOOD. We win today, and they drop a game or two to LAA (which is pretty likely given the way both teams have been playing), and I see no reason why we don't have the momentum to sweep them at home.Of course, with our luck. We'd sweep Texas and drop some to the Mariners
9/27/2012 10:12:45 AM
Unless something drastic happens, it looks like Texas will win the West.Mathematically though, as long as we go 3-3, the WC2 is ours...
9/27/2012 7:24:08 PM
<fingers crossed/>If LAA had beaten SEA last night the heat would be ON. Given that we both play SEA and TEX 3 times each, I agree with you on going .500 to snag the WC2. But couldn't TB still sweep their remaining games and force a playoff?
9/28/2012 8:55:51 AM
theoretically yes,but if they sweep Baltimore, i think it would actually help us, since we hold tie-breakers over BAL, TB and LAA, so it would be a game at home if it came down to that though. If we go 4-2 it's not really an issue though and all of this doesn't matterNot saying going 3-3 against the Rangers/Mariners is a given, but out of all the possible WC teams, BAL/OAK seems like the most likely scenario. I'm not really afraid of Baltimore or Texas tbh, if we get into a 5 series game, I think the sky's the limit
9/28/2012 10:22:05 AM
GREAT fucking win!Let's get the sweep and slug it out with Texas for the division title
9/29/2012 7:21:11 PM
Annnnnd the A's sweep! Texas losing 2 straight to LAA- while currently losing 4-0- makes this a perfect scenario. If the Rangers lose today, the A's need 2/3 at home to win the West. If the Rangers end up beating LAA, a sweep is needed for the division. This is so exciting!
9/30/2012 7:32:01 PM
Pretty sure if Texas loses to the Angels and the A's take 2 of 3 they will be tied with the Rangers and have a one game playoff for the West crown. Glad to see more late inning magic from the A's today.
9/30/2012 9:50:21 PM
well LAA lost, so we're still 2 games behindIf we sweep, the crown is ours. If we take 2/3, I'm not quite sure what happens. Tie breaker in Texas?
10/1/2012 12:08:04 AM
ive been pulling for the A's all along, but now I need the Rangers to get best record in the AL and the O's to win the East so that the Tigers can play the O's in a 5 game series and let either the A's or Yanks battle it out with the Rangers for the other spot in the ALCS
10/1/2012 12:39:02 AM
ok espn.... first the O's, now the A's are the "team of destiny"?http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/id/29380/as-still-look-like-team-of-destiny
10/1/2012 8:44:53 AM
I feel bad for saying this, but if the A's end up getting the WC, I hope the O's lose. I'd much rather play them than the Yankees.
10/1/2012 11:03:07 AM
hell yeah - looks like Bret Anderson will start for the WC game or even a playoff if we're lucky enough to tie for AL West
10/1/2012 11:38:46 AM
First world problem: I have tickets to tomorrow night's game instead of tonight's FAIL
10/1/2012 11:54:30 AM
Biggest A's series in years?Let's go!
10/1/2012 6:08:11 PM
^including the last two... yep evey one from here out is make or break!
10/1/2012 6:40:16 PM
I'd say it's been nail biting baseball since the beginning of September. If they win tonight, I will be going absolutely ballistic tomorrow.Insane how they can either sweep and win the West, or get left playing a play-in game to be WC2. THREE GAMES...
10/1/2012 7:16:54 PM
Perez is on the hill tonight... Should be a gimmie for the a's
10/1/2012 7:51:08 PM

10/1/2012 7:51:30 PM
lets sayA's go 2-1 vs TEXO's go 1-2 vs. TBNYY sweeps....we would tie BAL for the WC1. where would home field be for the playoff game?
10/1/2012 9:27:47 PM
i believe the managers have a fight to the death
10/1/2012 9:32:41 PM
I thought I heard it was based on head to head record.
10/1/2012 9:55:11 PM
we'd be at home, since we beat them head to head.again, I feel bad for saying it, but the more Baltimore loses, the better it looks for us
10/1/2012 11:47:47 PM
im now hoping for an A's sweep or 2-1 and win the tiebreaker so the Tigers play the A's and the yankees get the rangers/orioles winner
10/2/2012 1:10:27 AM
FUCK YES!
10/2/2012 1:13:25 AM
10/2/2012 1:38:45 AM
if the rangers lose this division i will lose it. had $100 on them at even money from before the season. The A's were supposed to be TERRIBLE this year what the heck is going on here.
