This story made it to the front page of Reddit. Seeing a lot of sanctimonious posting about how we just "ignored" him on the floor. Leave it to Reddit...

I was gonna buy one, but its gildan

Gildan??[Edited on January 15, 2013 at 6:41 PM. Reason : I know that is a brand of shirt, but what's wrong with it?]

If WolfpckGrl17 were handicapped and she lost her wheelchair, i would let her catch a ride on me
1/15/2013 6:25:01 PM
^^I've never owned a shirt that they've made that fit correctly. Plus $20 for a gildan is ridiculous.
1/15/2013 6:58:21 PM
Gildan shirts are this boxy, ridiculous cut that leaves huge triangles of fabric above your arms when they're at your side. All graphic tees should be "athletic fit" with properly tapered arms. There's no reason for t-shirts to be three huge squares of fabric these days.

I liked Gildan shirts in my post-college fat days (Luckily they are too boxy again now though)
1/15/2013 7:50:09 PM
That fat kid must be pissed

As a chubby person, I'll say that "athletic fit" shirts are still a more proper body fit than "regular fit" for anyone within 15% (if not more) of "ideal" body weight. I'm 6' and 205 and a large athletic fit shirt looks a lot better on me than a Gildan-style cut.

Meh, Gildans are fine for what they're doing, especially if they're using the Ultra Cotton ones at $20. This will blow over in a few weeks, and there's only so many folks that are going to buy that thing. It'll give them a little more margin to work with to donate, and let's be honest, we have a bunch of bigass boys that wear our gear. But yeah, if this grows real legs, they need to at least offer the women's shirts in a fitted shirt. Not worth doing it in two different styles for guys though, IMO.

that Today show clip is great
1/15/2013 8:04:04 PM
^^ True enough, but there are at least a dozen cool shirts from various organizations/bands that I've passed on because they're too short/have the weird arm triangles.
1/15/2013 8:30:35 PM
I'm all ears for a substitute for Gildans (they make a semi-fitted shirt, 4.5 oz ringspun cotton that's decent) without getting into American Apparel prices. PM offline, as this is getting the thread offtrack.
