I would also think the cheapskates of t-dub would love the fact that it's not a restaurant where you are inclined to tip.

If something is popular, it must be because of the hipsters. It must suck to be so nerdy and uncool that you naturally hate everything that is cool.
7/6/2013 7:06:41 PM
You mean like heroin?
7/6/2013 7:07:56 PM
There's nothing cool about heroin.

I recently saw the Food Truck episode of Bob's Burgers. They definitely portrayed it as a hipster phenomenon. They go to a festival called the Lolla-Pa-Foods-a. They had trucks named like "Ode to Soy", "Wok of Shame", "Sherlock Scones", "Total Eclipse of the Tart", "Talk to the Ham", "Stop, Drop, Egg Roll", "Something to Taco About", "Spaghett About it", "Justice of the Quiche", and "Schindler's Fish".

your first mistake was watching Bob's Burgers

So only hipsters use puns? Noted.
7/8/2013 1:44:36 PM
best show on tv now, imo^no. no they don't. hipsters are not the only people to use puns. that's not how the show portrayed it as a hipster phenomenon. I just thought some of them were funny so i posted them.[Edited on July 8, 2013 at 1:47 PM. Reason : ]

those are two separate paragraphs. the second paragraph isn't an explanation of the first. the second paragraph is meant to stand alone. stop trying to argue for the sake of arguing.

I don't expect a bargain, but I feel like the majority of food trucks I've gotten food from have been overpriced. I'll admit I need to try a few more before I cement that feeling, but that's how I feel at the moment.Side note, anyone know when Klausie's is opening on Glenwood?
7/8/2013 1:51:31 PM
^^ So you make an assertion with no backing. Then follow that directly with what looks like backing to the assertion...but it was a just a coincidence. 10-4

^ I kinda thought that they were maintaining competition by pricing themselves with all the other 'foodie-loved' food trucks.perhaps they are trying to make as much money as they can before their popularity dies down.

Only Burger is $7.50 for a burger fries and drink. Seems ok.Baguetteaboutit is $8.50 for a bread/sausage, chips and a drink. I thought that was kinda high.Chirba Chiurba is $9.50 for a full order of dumplings, and their sides are equally pricey at $3/$4.Klausie's was $3.50-$5 for a big slice, drinks at $1.50. Not too terrible, assuming you don't need two slices.Chick-N-Que can get pretty pricey, especially with their $3 side of fries and $3 drinks.Big Al's is signifigantly cheaper, with a complete meal starting at $6, or $8 if you want a side other than chips.Gussy's is all kinds of expensive with their $15 chicken greek salad and drink and their $13 pita, fries and drink[Edited on July 8, 2013 at 2:21 PM. Reason : that being said i'd buy from any these places, including gussy's if it was late night]

I don't get the overpriced issues. Most trucks I've seen have meals for $7-$10.The only truck I've ever felt like I paid too much for was the raw food truck. A wrap I got at a rodeo was about $9 and really small. Plus they don't actually prepare food on the truck, 100% of their menu was prepared at a commissary, packaged and stuck in a fridge. The truck was nothing more than a mobile food box with a cash register. Also, ^^ you can cross off Klausie's, they sold the truck.[Edited on July 8, 2013 at 2:30 PM. Reason : Punctuation]
