Eh, should have said something more deliberate. Guess I just don't like TOB, never really did. III
10/4/2011 5:54:53 PM
He hates TOB but won't say it publicly. He knows he's in a much much better situation. No reason for him to have sour grapes. Although he could have gone into more detail about missing spring practice instead of just saying TOB decided to move on. That really says a lot.
10/4/2011 6:48:50 PM
I'm thinking he's reluctant to bring up the Spring stuff to protect how he's viewed when it's time for the NFL Draftif it looks like he won't be committed to a team drafting him (i.e. he still wants to spend time on baseball), an interested NFL team could avoid taking him sooner
10/4/2011 7:01:26 PM
^He's done with any kind of baseball career after leaving the Rockies. It's football or bust.
10/4/2011 7:05:51 PM
he's said he'd still like to do bothI think he's still part of the Rockies, according to an interview I saw/heard within the past couple weeksim not saying he'll be able to do both, but in his mind he thinks he can[Edited on October 4, 2011 at 7:08 PM. Reason : ]

if RW does somehow win the Heisman...does Debbie Yow consider this at the end of the season for TOB? This whole situation is epic NC State shit at it's best.
10/5/2011 10:57:04 AM
^Despite that oddly worded sentence, I'll attempt to answer. RW winning a Heisman would hurt his credibility (deserved or not). But, a fourth losing season in 5 years will be more damning.
10/5/2011 11:02:19 AM
Him winning the Heisman should only impact her opinion of TOB in the sense that TOB couldn't put together the knd of running game that nicely compliments a QB like Wilson.

yeah I dont see anything incorrect in his assessment of the situation or team

i am absolutely amazed at how fairly we're being treated in all of this.amazed.
10/5/2011 12:33:58 PM
He's also got a good point about the potential for upperclassmen to improve their draft status by hitting the books hard enough to graduate early.Won't work for everyone, of course, but anything that helps encourage athletics right? Also, how does Wilson affect graduations rates. Obviously he should be a positive mark for NC State, but he's not likely to get his masters degree in one year at Wisconsin playing football the whole time. Will that count against them, or is he a non-factor since he already graduated?
10/5/2011 12:34:03 PM
I still don't get it all the BS.RW wasn't "run out of town".What RW does at Wisconsin has no bearing on NCSU football. If RW was still at NCSU he 1) wouldn't be having the season he is 2) we'd still suck
10/5/2011 1:11:36 PM
I believe he was saying "Fuck you" to the dude that asked the question, not the guy responding to the question accurately and fairly.
10/5/2011 1:15:30 PM
^yeah, there seems to be confusion.Douchebag J.D. Bolic (who's probably a regular PP poster) asked a one-sentence question. Stewart Mandel gave a decent response, ahough i think he was being a little harsh. I think the team will prove in the next few games that we're not "so bad in almost every area". I think we'll prove to be "kinda bad in some areas".[Edited on October 5, 2011 at 1:21 PM. Reason : ]

I don't think it's that much of a stretch. We have CMU, a bye week, and then Virginia. Two very winnable games, and three weeks to get back up to full strength. We should be returning most of our guys on D (assuming no more injuries, which is a BIG if) and Mustafa Greene could be back as well. Our D looks serviceable with just the return of Sweezy, and it very well could improve as the season progresses. Really, if we can get a win this week (we should, anyway) and then rest on the bye and get a win against Virginia, we're looking at a 4-3 team with FSU, UNC (at home), BC, Clemson (at home), and Maryland (at home) left on the schedule. If we go 3-2 during that stretch, we go bowling, which would be a helluva accomplishment given the start of the season.[Edited on October 5, 2011 at 4:43 PM. it is refreshing to hear some optimism once in a blue moon.
10/5/2011 4:45:59 PM
I hate to keep using the "excuse", but I've got to think that getting multiple key players, and more than half our D-line will have to make a difference.
10/5/2011 5:04:19 PM
Of course you've got to think that. Because dear god if no one had any hope that it would make a difference Saturdays would be insanely depressing for the rest of the fall.
10/5/2011 5:05:30 PM
I personally don't see injuries as an excuse, seems like a legitimate reason to me.

Who wants to pull the stats? I've heard Wisconsin has one of the biggest NCAA O-lines, and bigger than many NFL teams?
10/6/2011 7:33:36 PM
I don't understand why people make so much out of that post. size isn't all that matters. georgia has the biggest oline in the country (including nfl)1 nfl team has a bigger oline than wisconsinwisconsin is 3rd biggest in the nation (including nfl)
10/6/2011 7:46:43 PM
Wow, I honestly didn't know they were that big. I realize that having a huge O-line isn't necessarily a great thing. But theirs ain't a bunch of immobile lard-asses. That transfer was definitely in is best interest.
