he's probably just projecting his moral fortitude on other people
7/3/2012 6:24:36 PM
sadly, antawn would be our best player. He'd want to come here because of the NC ties and the shots he'd get to put up.
7/3/2012 6:25:31 PM
Def better than 50-50 the lottery was fixed. Antawn wouldn't be one of the better players on D league rosters, let alone the bobcats. He'd be better than a few of our very worst players like higgins, mullens, and Carroll but that's it. He was terrible this year, big anchor on Cleveland.
7/3/2012 7:45:47 PM
He's not very algorithmic, that's for sure.
7/3/2012 7:49:09 PM
A power forward who shoots 42%, averages 6.7 reb, .5 stl, and .3 blk despite playing nearly the entire game. What's not to love?!
7/3/2012 8:48:54 PM
7/4/2012 11:41:00 AM
Rumor that we are throwing $9m per at the dragon. Would love to see him in charlotte, he was incredible this year
7/5/2012 1:12:15 AM
haha, he signed with phoenix earlier, your sources suck
7/5/2012 1:26:09 AM
Damn that sucks. I'm in Vegas , just catching news on occasion didn't post it right away didn't realize he'd sign tonight [Edited on July 5, 2012 at 3:26 AM. Reason : a]
7/5/2012 3:24:33 AM
did face just talk about the worst players on the team and mention Mullens instead of diop? no credibility.
7/5/2012 8:06:38 AM
Elton Brand to be amnestied. Another over-the-hill PF who can show the young guys the ropes. Bobcats could grab him off waivers or try to sign him as a FA.
7/6/2012 2:34:12 PM
^^ diop is significantly better than mullens. Mullens was just plain horrible last season. Diop is basically a zero, but mullens was a huge net negative. No reason to take brand. Let's focus on acquiring guys who can help the franchise rebuild, there's plenty of young talent in the league, we don't gain anything with a one year contract for a guy on his last legs.
7/6/2012 3:39:34 PM
7/6/2012 3:42:35 PM
^are you high? Diop is the most pathetic NBA player I have ever seen.
7/6/2012 10:53:58 PM
No, mullens is just THAT bad.Diop was good in Dallas. He's obviously not good anymore, but mullens was one of the worst players in the league last year. [Edited on July 7, 2012 at 12:08 AM. Reason : a]

9.3 ppg, 5.0rpg, 43% FG, 0.9apg, 0.8bpg, 0.3spg, 22mpg = one of the worst players in the league10.2ppg, 5.3rpg, 43% FG, 1.2apg, 0.3bpg, 0.8spg, 26mpg = breakout seasoni'm not saying Mullens is good, I'm just saying Marvin Williams is a comparable playerPer 48 minutes:Mullens: 19.9PPG, 10.7RPG, 1.9APG, 43%FG, 82%FT, 1.7BPG, 0.7SPG = worst player in NBAMarvin:: 18.5PPG, 9.4RPG, 2.3APG, 43%FG, 79%FT, 0.6BPG, 1.5SPG = great seasonnow the glaring difference according to the algorithm is that Marvin's WP48 is .202 and Mullens' was -.084but thats when the eye test tells you the wins produced difference is largely a result of the Hawks winning 40 games and the Bobcats winning 7[Edited on July 7, 2012 at 1:20 PM. Reason : algorithms never lie]
7/7/2012 1:01:04 PM
These stats are entire team independent I'm sure. The big difference, after a cursory comparison, is in effective FG% and turnover rate. Even though their overall FG% is pretty similar Marvin Williams shoots 3's better so his effective is much higher. And he turns the ball over at half the rate.Everything else is pretty equal.
7/7/2012 3:31:16 PM
Lol yeah everything is pretty equal except one of them plays CENTER and the other plays SG/sf. Other than that !!!
7/7/2012 3:57:44 PM
Mullens is a center who shoots jump shots. Marvin Williams is a 6'9" "shooting guard" who shoots jump shots. If Marvin's 3 pointers make him a great player but make Mullens one of the worst in the league, well I didn't realize 3 pointers made that significant of a difference.I guess if Mullens bumped his 3pt% up 15 points he'd go from one of the worst players in the NBA to a great player]
7/7/2012 4:16:38 PM
Mullens averaged 3 times as many points Diop's career high last year. I think that Mullens scored more points in one game than Diop did all of last season. Yet Diop is the better player? Your metric is fucked.
7/7/2012 4:25:58 PM
This is the nba not high school. Points mean nothing.Centers that shoot 43% and can't rebound or defend are TERRIBLE. that should be obvious to even the biggest mongloid. He was the 4th string center in Oklahoma. A team that doesn't even have ONE good center. Let's use our heads here.
7/7/2012 4:44:30 PM
Diop can't score, rebound, or defend. He also makes 5-6 times what Mullens makes. Dropping Diop would do the team very well.
7/7/2012 4:47:53 PM
Now is the time when I remind folks how we got Diop by trading for him and Matt Carroll, the same Matt Carroll who we signed to a ridiculous contract in his own right, somehow traded away, and then traded back for. Its like when The Waterboy intercepted that pass and tossed it right back to #62.MKG officially signed. Anxious to see what he does in Vegas.[Edited on July 7, 2012 at 5:05 PM. Reason : x]
7/7/2012 5:04:34 PM
When do the bobcats play? I thought about heading over to catch a game. It's at unlv, right?
7/7/2012 5:41:06 PM
I'm seeing Biyombo, Higgins, and Kemba are on the summer league team, along with Taylor and MKG. Here's the only schedule I can find
7/9/2012 9:43:00 AM
7/9/2012 10:08:07 AM
Bonnell tweeted our roster . It's basically 2/3 of our real team and it still looks like a weak summer league team haha. Good to see we are giving higgins yet another shot! What a joke
7/9/2012 11:47:50 PM
Yeah, didn't know Mullens was playing. That means 4/5 starters for next year could playing (Henderson being the only one out). I'm still betting they only win about 1/2 of their games.
7/10/2012 9:29:08 AM
Bonnell says we are looking at sessions and haywood. Both would be good additions, but I wish wed just save our cap space. Apparently we had interest in brook lopez. Just when I thought our management had a clue I hear that...
7/12/2012 6:13:06 AM
I think the interest in Lopez was a favor to his agent. With a Bobcats max offer supposedly on the table it forced the Nets hand to go ahead and pay Lopez, or risk him signing an offer sheet with another team which would prevent him from being traded for a year. His agent also has Gerald Henderson and Antawn Jamison as clients, so I am sure the favor will be returned down the line at some point.
7/12/2012 8:12:13 AM
Ramon Sessions, come on downNeed to see the dollars here. Curious as the whether they see him as a starter since they've put so much emphasis on developing Kemba this summer.
7/12/2012 2:06:43 PM
Sessions is a good player so if its like 3 years, $18 million that's alright. I think they're just kinda desperate to not win 10 games again next year and sessions assures us that we can still be bad but not historically bad. Hoping its not 5 yrs, $30 million though would rather keep our flexibility intact. Biyombo, MKG, + a top 5 pick next year, + Detroit first rounder is a pretty decent start at building a good team. No need to add midlevel guys who could mess things up for us. The key is to put together the core first. You can go over the cap later with mle or trades but you can't cap out on midlevel guys then try to add stars.
7/12/2012 2:26:42 PM
Augustin possibly being traded for Hansbrough. This happens count me as completely done with Jordan.http://tracking.si.com/2012/07/12/pacers-trying-to-acquire-dj-augustin/
7/12/2012 3:09:51 PM
How does the algorithm grade Psycho T?
7/12/2012 3:13:23 PM
Pretty bad I think.
7/12/2012 3:15:44 PM
LOL at the idea of trading for Hansdouche. What good does that deal accomplish? Maybe a few more UNC fans in the seats? Maybe Bismack will break his nose in practice.
7/12/2012 3:28:14 PM
Very low. .02 wp/48 where a roster of .10 would go .500That's equivalent to -2.4 points over par/48. In other words substituting hansbrough for an avg player costs you about 2.4 points a game if he plays the whole game.[Edited on July 12, 2012 at 4:10 PM. Reason : a]
7/12/2012 4:09:33 PM
Bonnell says it's unlikelybow to Bonnell...tremble in his presence
7/12/2012 4:33:37 PM
^^ yeah but the average player does not play with heart and desire and determination and intensity and love for the game that Hansdouche brings. All of that has to be worth like 0.1 pts per week.[Edited on July 12, 2012 at 4:34 PM. Reason : 6]
7/12/2012 4:34:22 PM
supposedly a contract agreement has been reached with Sessions, but no salary figures released yet...they might rescind Augustin's tender making him an UFA, per Bonnell
7/12/2012 4:44:32 PM
Yeah they already did. Shrewd move. Augustin was good two years ago but not this year and he's injury prone.Augustin is one of those guys you have to be careful with. He can start for you, but only if you're paying him low so the rest of your lineup is stacked. If you pay him $7m+ you are giving up too much other talent.
7/12/2012 5:01:36 PM
Augustin to Indy for 3.5. Good riddance.
7/12/2012 5:06:30 PM
Yeah, I think DJ is a good shooter and a great ballhandler, but he's too small to be a good defender. I always liked him, but he doesn't seem to have the motor/intensity Dunlap is looking for ... doesn't seem to fit the run-and-gun style he wants to implement either.
7/12/2012 5:08:46 PM
i think part of it also is that Larry Brown really fucked with his head...there was a point DJ forgot how to play basketball Brown rode him so hard
7/12/2012 5:14:49 PM
Remember when Larry Brown convinced MJ to draft DJ when Brook Lopez was still on the board?Yeah, fuck everything about that.
7/12/2012 6:18:56 PM
is Sessions worth a shit? I have no idea
7/12/2012 8:14:20 PM
Just another average PG that probably just wanted to play closer to home
7/12/2012 8:35:17 PM
What kind of fake ass fans are we attracting around here, jesus christ
7/12/2012 8:39:51 PM
I was a big critic of them taking Dj over lopez, but it actually worked out okay for us. We got rid of DJ with no further commitment and the nets are now stuck with lopez. I'd liken it to breaking up with an ugly girlfriend versus marrying her.And yes sessions is worth a shit. We're not a playoff team next year but we are going to be significantly better if we land humphries and haywood.Sessions/Kemba, Henderson/Gordon, Williams/Tyrus/MKG, Humphries/Brown, Haywood/Biyombo is a lot closer to .500 than 9-73.We won't win as many games as we "should" because they'll play Kemba, MKG, and biyombo more than they should to keep our draft pick good and give the young guys experience. But we definitely don't have to worry about setting any records if we add those other two.Oh, and sessions is only a two year deal, I like it.
7/12/2012 11:21:45 PM
you're saying we'll likely play biyombo more than we should and that would hurt our wins?doesn't that completely go against your WP48 religion? is bismack not our best big based on wp48?i mean you visit these sites http://wagesofwins.com/ , http://www.thenbageek.com/more than i visit google and twwdunno why you're abandoning them with your bismack analysisand i do mean analysis, and not stat regurgitation, since bismack was our 2nd best player last year after derrick brown[Edited on July 12, 2012 at 11:31 PM.
