im sorta the same way

i'll eat most anything from most anywhere and have in many places others wouldn't, and i feel that constantly doing this helps with not having problems with doing this

so, after all that, and eating at a ton of really random places and a ton of random things, the only time ive ever gotten food poisoning was from a champps sports bar... for fucks sake.

to which i replied,

the problems with this are
1. a prez like GW who had a coke problem may relapse and go broke then we'd have a homeless former prez and would look retarded on the world stage
2. the amount of money they make in office isn't anything in comparison to the amount of money it costs to get into office, so the only reason anyone does it is to promote the development of their private businesses (i.e. bush family owns oil, "bad decisions" are made gas prices go up 500% then settle to 300% while bush is in office; also check out Halliburton & Cheney )

I, personally would rather increase the salary of the government officials and make it cheaper to run for office so we actually get people in office that want to do what's right for this country... not just pull some strings and build in some loopholes to make more money in their private endeavors.

Also, we don't have a draft right now, so the salary of a soldier is supply/demand related if (in this case his son) did not feel like his salary was sufficient then he shouldn't have joined.
