Bismack being a 2nd year player and someone we have no idea what age he is its hard to say how good he will be next year. If he's really 19 he had a great rookie year. If he's 22-23 it was just okay.I wasn't trying to discredit him, but he's clearly not as good yet as humphries, brown, and haywood. So yes, I think he will get more minutes than optimal for our 2012-2013 record. Again, I'm not advocating that we shouldn't play the young guys. Just saying by playing them quite a bit it will likely keep our record worse than it would if we let the vets play heavier minutes. It's not like were good enough to make any noise, so play the youth and let's get a top 5 pick. I want shabazz, zeller, or noel as of now.

Highlights and box score from last night. I know it's just one game in Summer League play, but I'm liking what I'm seeing out of Dunlap. 121 points from the Bobcats? Damnhttp://www.nba.com/summer-league/games/20120713/SACCHA/gameinfo.html
7/14/2012 12:38:33 PM
18 Pts, 8 reb, 5 ast, 4 stl. He's going to be really good eventually. On another note Cory higgins was 4-13 from the field. As if being the worst player on the worst nba team ever wasn't damning enough

Chad Ford's offseason grades.CHARLOTTE BOBCATSKey additions: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (draft), Ben Gordon (trade), Ramon Sessions (FA), Jeff Taylor (draft), Mike Dunlap (coach)Key subtractions: D.J. Augustin, Corey Maggette, Jamario Moon, D.J. White, Paul Silas (coach)For two years, our Future Power Rankings have had the Bobcats ranked dead last. Last year, they certainly played like it.This year, I don't expect things to get much better. The good thing about the NBA is that it rewards futility with high draft picks, and the Bobcats got a great one in Kidd-Gilchrist. He is not an immediate impact player the way Anthony Davis will be, but I believe he will be the second-best player in this draft and will add toughness, athleticism and a sense of urgency that this team lacked last season. Taylor is one of the best on-the-ball defenders in the draft, but he seems to duplicate much of what Kidd-Gilchrist brings to the table without the upside.I'm not a huge fan of the Gordon-Maggette swap. Yes, the Bobcats needed shooting, but adding Gordon isn't going to move the needle much and he has a whopping $25.6 million left on his deal. While most rebuilding teams are clearing future cap space, the Bobcats have an annoying tendency toward adding to it.The Bobcats also essentially swapped Augustin for Sessions, who is bigger and was superior in virtually every statistical category the past two seasons. Augustin may have been a slightly better passer, but that's about it. Overall, it was an upgrade for the Bobcats.I highly doubt that the Bobcats are done. They are still flirting with a number of lower-priced free agents, such as Antawn Jamison and Brendan Haywood, who recently was designated for amnesty by Dallas. But even if they land a few more players, they still look like the overwhelming favorites to be the worst team in the league for a second straight year. Kidd-Gilchrist is a ray of sunlight and Sessions is an upgrade, but for the most part, the hole the Bobcats have dug is still very dark.GRADE: B-http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/8158678/nba-2012-offseason-grades-every-team
7/14/2012 2:47:53 PM
Mullens missed his first 5 shots, then finished 7-11 as the game's leading scorerhe's no Diop though
7/14/2012 2:48:25 PM
Um, did he just ignore that we got a first round pick out of the Gordon deal? That was a great deal for us, the pistons will be horrible for the next few years in all likelihood
7/14/2012 2:49:51 PM
The pistons pick is lottery protected isn't it?Gordon's contract is awful, and he is not good. He also plays the same position as Kemba Walker. A 2 in a pg's body
7/14/2012 3:28:31 PM
yes, but the pistons will likely suck balls the next few years, and the amount of protection decreases every year
7/14/2012 4:07:52 PM
Haywood, huh? Don't like him as a person, but 2 mil/per for a center that can play a little is peanuts. Good move.
7/14/2012 7:35:04 PM
UNC huh? ... well I like it anyway
7/14/2012 8:59:31 PM

Who gives a shit if gordon's contract is ridiculous? The bobcats aren't close to the cap.
7/15/2012 8:16:25 PM
lol zellar
7/15/2012 8:46:44 PM
shocked i am watching this. i must be getting old.
7/15/2012 8:48:26 PM
The fuck is Higgins starting over mkg?
7/15/2012 8:49:55 PM
I think MKG hurt his knee a little or something in the last gamebut he had a couple dunks after that so who knowswtf he won't play at all tonight? (flips to anything else)[Edited on July 15, 2012 at 8:53 PM. Reason : ]
7/15/2012 8:51:14 PM
Well I'm not watching this game to see BJ Mullens, I can you tell you that Movie time!
7/15/2012 8:52:48 PM
kemba walker is an elite nba shot misser
7/15/2012 9:09:08 PM
Gordon has 2 yrs, $25 million and maggette had 1 yr, $11m so really its only one year and we got a potential top 5 pick out of it.On top of that Gordon is a reasonable backup sg whereas maggette is unreasonable to even have on your roster after last seasons debacle.[Edited on July 15, 2012 at 9:20 PM. Waiters looking like a huge bust
7/15/2012 9:24:50 PM
how do we shoot 30% from the field as a team and win? lol
7/16/2012 1:44:43 AM
lol, friend of a friend knows haywood. Here's his thoughts on joining the bobcats "If im gonna lose i might as well do it at home"Well done MJ, we're on the up and up!
7/16/2012 9:07:14 PM
Mullens with 33 and 8 tonight to lead us to victoryhe's obviously no Desagana Diop though
7/18/2012 1:11:05 AM
I still can't believe someone said diop was better than Mullens
7/18/2012 8:15:21 AM
strange, as an Ohio State fan, I have almost no recollection of BJ Mullens' college careersame with Kosta Kuofos[Edited on July 18, 2012 at 8:54 AM. Reason : asdf]
7/18/2012 8:54:00 AM
When you're a talented 7 footer, you don't need to stay in college long. I think Mullens was a 6th man of the year though
7/18/2012 9:02:39 AM
I still cant believe you think mullens is better than diop after the year he just had.Diop was a starter in the nba finals. Mullens was a backup for the worst team in nba history.Let's get serious here.
7/18/2012 9:54:40 AM
Diop averages like 2 ppg for his career. He had a 17% ft% last year. He has never averaged 19 minutes a game in a season. Mullens is much better than diop. The bobcats need scoring and Mullens is MUCH better at it.
7/18/2012 10:12:03 AM
As of RIGHT NOW, Mullens is better than Diop. And holy shit it's not even close. Also, random Kemba Walker note: He's#1 in the summer league assists and is only averaging one turnover per game. With his handle and quickness, he can get basically any mid-range shot he wants. If he ever learns to hit those shots, he could be special. Also, from the couple of games I've seen, Kemba is playing downright tenacious defense. (Never thought I'd say that.) His ball pressure and hustle is off the charts.
7/18/2012 10:27:09 AM
Keeping in mind it's only summer league, kemba is still a good piece for the bobcats future ]
7/18/2012 10:34:25 AM
Well, you guys are wrong. Diop is still a role player who has STARTED for a team that should have won the NBA Finals.Mullens is one of the absolute worst players in the entire NBA.This one is inarguable, sorry. And I think Kemba is a huge bust, but that one is arguable at least.[Edited on July 18, 2012 at 12:58 PM. 7/18/2012 12:58:09 PM
aha, face is trolling the shit out of you guys. no sane person would ever think that a guy who has never averaged more than 3 ppg in the same amount of minutes as someone who did 10 and 5 last year

at least Mullens doesn't airball free throws
7/18/2012 1:39:59 PM
Steve Reed ?@SteveReed_APThe Bobcats have withdrawn their qualifying offer to Derrick Brown, making him an unrestricted free agent.
7/18/2012 9:33:41 PM
Byron Mullens goes for 33, Bobcats 3-0 in the LV Summer League
7/18/2012 9:50:25 PM
say what you want about dunlap, but i think he is really getting solid play for the kids in the summer league. i see all the hustle he said he would demand and then some. when we lose 20 straight it will be interesting to see how he handles it. either way so far so good, and he is backing up what he said he would. i like it so far.
7/18/2012 9:56:19 PM
Mullens is a great player if you're trying to ensure you get a high draft pick. He's literally one of the worst players in the nba. He's just ahead of the 2009 josh Powell. After this derrick brown debacle I'm not even sure I can pull for the bobcats anymore. Enough is enough. Cho sucks too
7/19/2012 2:36:46 PM
Mullens does suck, but he's better than Diop. That motherfucker is TRASH
7/19/2012 2:40:16 PM
What exactly does Derrick Brown do well? From what I've seen, he's a pretty good athlete but lacks quickness and ball-handling to get his own shot off. He's an average shooter, average defender, average rebounder. He just does nothing above average except dunk, occsassionally.
7/19/2012 2:44:08 PM
Diop is so good! he gets a ton of playing time for the worst team in the league
7/19/2012 2:54:48 PM
He sure scores a lot of points to be one of the worst players in the nba
7/19/2012 7:47:52 PM
7/19/2012 8:05:17 PM
Derrick Brown is obviously a really good player. Just gross that we're so incompetent.Mullens is horrible you guys really need to get a clue. How many CENTERS in the NBA shoot 44% or worse from the field? Who cares how many points he scores if he has the worst FG% in the league practically? I wish he averaged 0 ppg and never shot the ball ever since he can't make anything.
