I was thinking of this in particular.http://thecolorrun.com/about/Charity for what?

my friend ran in the Philly color run last month and the color stains are still on her shoes and handheld water bottle holderpic deserves a 4 zoom[Edited on August 23, 2012 at 4:44 PM. Reason : zome ]

Charity or not, I can't justify paying that much for 3 miles, and for a t-shirt. You're paying for the t-shirt($20-25) anyway.I guess I am just heartless.
8/23/2012 4:43:37 PM
Idk I think the color run looks fun. maybe not $60 fun but I am poor.also, from the site
8/23/2012 4:43:59 PM
8/23/2012 4:46:44 PM
I'd stain it
8/23/2012 4:48:44 PM
I think it wont stain your face but it still stains her hands every time she uses her waterbottle running because of sweat/wetness transfer
8/23/2012 4:53:13 PM
The only charity that I've been involved with and I find worthy is http://www.girlsontherun.org/I was a volunteer coach, but I didn't have to pay for the 5K.

My bad I didn't know organizations got discounts at the press.$20-25 is what t-shirts costs normally, though right? My opinion still stands on paying $50 or more to run 3 miles when you can do it at the park.[Edited on August 23, 2012 at 5:08 PM. Reason : calm down woman]

"event runs" like the Warrior Dash and the Color Run are for the experience, that's what you are paying for.Other 5ks (and other distances) usually benefit someone or a group, etc. So depending on the cause, I don't mind putting up some cash. It's not about the running, it's about having fun and supporting a cause.I am also affiliated with Girls on the Run! I am on the fundraising committee. And t-shirts are never, never $20-25. Unless they are Brooks brand or a super-nice quality.(also, the Color run apparently does donate to a local charity of the city they do the races in)[Edited on August 23, 2012 at 5:27 PM. Reason : more stuff!]
8/23/2012 5:25:19 PM
i normally run races for a cause (i do Jingle Bell, Turkey Trot, KKC, etc) but this kind of sounded like fun plus it's been a few months since i ran a competitive 5K
8/23/2012 5:28:11 PM
yall should do the autism run with me in october. i want to get a decent sized team together! last year i tried to get co-workers involved and they were so uninterested. half the ones who signed up didn't even come.

^^does your place of employment have a "lactation room"i just realized what this room was, its got a nice comfy recliner in it and supposedly nursing women can go in there and fill up the bottles or whatever.craziness, is this normal?[Edited on August 24, 2012 at 1:24 PM. Reason : it should simply be called the barn]
8/24/2012 1:23:40 PM
the Wellness Room has the couch, but it also has a table and chairs, so it can be used for pretty much anything. yes, that will be used as the lactation room if a nursing mama needs to use it as such. it does have a lock on the door :lol:and i dunno about "normal" to have a specific room for nursing moms, but it's becoming the norm to have a room to sorta chillax in, that can also be used for nursing.[Edited on August 24, 2012 at 1:27 PM. Reason : .]
8/24/2012 1:26:28 PM
but other people can be in there??this room is like a small closet with a chair and some other stuff i cant identify i felt dirty looking into it.
8/24/2012 1:27:15 PM
this room is probably 12' x 12' at best. no windows, and a solid door that locks. i guess you can go in there and chillax at the table or on the couch with a couple people if you wanted to.
8/24/2012 1:28:12 PM
that's all the cleaning i'm gonna do for the inlaws. now time for my lunch
8/24/2012 1:29:15 PM
I think by law, offices must offer some sort of private room/area for breastfeeding.BuyBuyBaby has a breastfeeding room. You're supposed to knock before you go in if the door is closed.
