Apple & Pumpkin Pie...in the oven now. It's the only thing I can bake/cook/fry/etc...etc...and I've been told making crust is like one of the hardest things...

But you ask me to cook chicken and I'm lost.

Last year I made an entire spread for 30 people. It included:

Apple cider brined turkey
Cornbread stuffing
Mashed potatoes
Cranberry sauce
Sauteed green beans
Pumpkin pie

I think that was it.

I'd rather shoot myself than attempt to do anything like that ever again in my life

If it had been JUST the dinner it would have been okay, but there was a lot of other drama that went into it because it was also supposed to be a fundraiser for this organization that's run by a bunch of screwups it turns out.

This year it's just going to be my friends and I enjoying some turkey

Last year I was too sick to attend Thanksgiving dinner and too sick to eat, so I did tequila shots chased by cough syrup.

This year, lots of wine and lots of of seafood. I'll probably make red snapper ceviche with fresh pita chips.

Last year was our "first Thanksgiving as a married couple" so we did the dinner at our house for both families. It was great! Until Uncle Floyd showed up with all 3 of his girlfriends and we didn't have enough chairs or table space for everyone. So the 2 girlfriends who weren't putting out got to sit in the living room and eat on the coffee table.

^ AHAHAHA

Sorry I missed it. What's the deal for turkey day this year? I want to visit, but may just have to come for Christmas.

However, if I am affected in the October layoffs, then I will be there for a happy turkey day!

The only thing I know is that I will NOT be hosting another meal for everyone.

Have wine. Will travel.

^^ I'll host Thanksgiving!

I have a fully stocked bar, a wine fridge and a house within walking distance of the ABC store.

I would love to drive down there for Thanksgiving. I've even got a few vacation days left, as opposed to last year when I used them all up for the wedding and honeymoon. I'm down! Maybe your parents would wanna come?

^ They might! It probably depends on the Pops situation, as you can imagine. They have never visited and I've lived here 3 years.

Haha, Uncle Floyd does leave some pretty decent leftovers. He's my serial dater uncle.

Come to think of it, they prob can't come bc of the cows/paper/blah blah. I'll try to make it to Raleigh.

And if I can't make it then, I'm def up for some tailgating at some point this season.
