I am too chicken to get a rib tattoo. I would def be too jumpy and would cry which in turn would make my tattoo artist feel bad.

I cried with one tattoo. Embarrassing.

I totally thought that qntmfred was joking about his rib tattoo. That is awesome.

I had a number of piercings before I got tattooed, so I didn't think that the tattoos would really hurt. I forgot that a piercing is over in a split second, but the tattoo takes a while. I have 4 tattoos and each one hurt more than I expected it to.

But yeah, if you really want it, you'll tolerate it.

you better slather that jammy with some high spf if you are going to take in the sun. Black fades like a mother if not taken care of correctly and then you would end up with a slightly deep green tatt that used to be black.

Swim in that thing if it is healed but you have to remember all tattoos fade eventually bc of normal "wear and tear."

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAKE SURE IT HEALS CORRECTLY BEFORE YOU TAKE A DIP!!! I almost lost the one on my wrist bc I kept it submerged too long. The tatt became a scab and was literally detaching itself from my skin.

No swimming for 2 weeks.

When I went to Nate at all or nothing (before he opened his own shop) it was $150 an hour. Actually a hell of a lot cheaper than your average artist of questionable talent. he's so good and been doing it so long he moves FAST and it's over before you know it. Completely reworking my dog took 2 hours, I'm sure he could have done it from a pic in 3 or less (drawing it on to finish).

Honestly, the drive to Houston and back (less if I can catch him at a convention closer to NC) won't really cost me anything, since the tatts I want would cost more and be lower quality locally.

sawahash - the tattoo on my neck is about the same size you are describing. It hurt (all tattoos hurt, no escaping that one) but it wasn't nearly as bad as my others. Second easiest (beaten out only by my wrist), and since you have use of your hands it is easy to distract yourself (I braided the hair hanging in front of my face and played tetris on my phone).


doh- I read your post wrong... mine is about the size of the one you have already, a little bigger actually. the one you want should be easy and not too terribly painful

^^ I actually had just the infinity there originally- but the guy who did it f-ed it up (God only knows how he managed that one...) I didn't know what to do with it- so I went to my usual girl (Christy) and told her I wanted something bigger, more colorful, with a tribal influence to it to fix the error. I had the general shape in mind (heart with the pointed edges) but the detail inside was all her.
