Has everyone forgotten about Chevy Chase or
12/1/2009 12:16:51 AM
Or Bill Murray
12/1/2009 12:17:55 AM
or steve martin or dan akroyd or
12/1/2009 12:18:34 AM
Steve Martin was never a cast member.
12/1/2009 12:20:01 AM
might as well have been, for the number of times he guest hosted. the man is in his element at SNL.
12/1/2009 12:20:57 AM
Steve Martin was not an SNL cast member.[Edited on December 1, 2009 at 12:23 AM. Reason : yeah, that]
12/1/2009 12:21:06 AM
i... i just never really found steve martin funny i love him but "The Jerk" straight up ruined him for meomg has anyone mentioned Jon Belushi yet? freaking samurai delicatessen
12/1/2009 12:21:31 AM
Also, Chevy Chase was only on for one season, so he really doesn't deserve to be on this list.

12/1/2009 12:25:56 AM
With available choices like Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, Chevy Chase, Eddie Murphy, Jon Belushi, Jane Curtin, Lovitz and Hartman how the fuck can you people even begin to mention Chris Farley, Jimmy Fallon, Will Ferrell or for Christ's sake Chris-if-he's-so-funny-where-is-he-now-Kattan. What the hell is wrong with you. You guys need to watch some old SNL and see what it was like when it was actually funny.[Edited on December 1, 2009 at 12:26 AM. Reason : ffs]
Did someone seriously mention Chris Kattan[Edited on December 1, 2009 at 12:29 AM. Reason : seriously]

Wasn't jane curtain also on SCTV? I just always put her with john candy and ect^yeah. The Three Amigos could be considered a highpoint for all of their careers. And I dont care but Bow Finger freaking kicks ass[Edited on December 1, 2009 at 12:30 AM. Reason : asdf]
12/1/2009 12:29:00 AM
What criteria is everyone using?
12/1/2009 12:29:20 AM
^^^^ Someone said he was funny as that monkey guy that ate apples all the time. I don't think anyone seriously considered him the best.[Edited on December 1, 2009 at 12:30 AM. Reason : ]
12/1/2009 12:29:40 AM
I don't know, but apparently tenure is involved
12/1/2009 12:29:41 AM
I feel longevity is important. Would you consider J.J. Hickson to be one of the greatest NC State players?
12/1/2009 12:31:17 AM
Well if thats the case then Duane "The Rock" did a better mister peepers anyway
12/1/2009 12:32:00 AM
That's a fucking silly comparisonChevy Chase owned SNLOWNED ITJJ Hickson had a good seasonHe did not do to NC State basketball what Chevy Chase did to SNLHe actually did the exact opposite[Edited on December 1, 2009 at 12:33 AM. Reason : great work]

12/1/2009 12:34:16 AM
Your rebuttal is valid. I would still like to hear a standardized list of qualities on which everyone is creating their list.
12/1/2009 12:34:41 AM
12/1/2009 12:35:07 AM
That seems rather arbitrary and subjective.
12/1/2009 12:35:37 AM
You're a fucking dolt
12/1/2009 12:36:23 AM
i bet if you graphed everybody's year of birth versus the median year of the cast member(s) they've named, you'd have a nice correlation11/30/2009 10:12:41 PMTreeTwista10Jake Delhomme is God81123 Postsuser infoedit post I like Farley, Hartman, Norm, Kevin Nealon, etc but also appreciate cats like Chevy Chase, John Belushi, etcwhoops, double MADAM I'M ADAM post[Edited on November 30, 2009 at 10:14 PM. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturday_Night_Live_cast#List_of_cast_membersChevy Chase: 1975-1976. That would be one season. If you really liked SNL and/or Chevy Chase, you would know that he stated leaving SNL was "the greatest career mistake [he] ever made".
12/1/2009 12:38:45 AM
I don't see how that's at all relevant to the comedic mastery he displayed while a cast memberLook dude, I know you used to be UberComedian, but you're clowning yourself here
12/1/2009 12:43:48 AM
i was asked earlier by Rat Soup if i liked this phil hartman skit:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isFf3t_4Zbkannnnddd.....[NO]not funny. just not my cup of tea.i'm holding true to my vote for farley and ferrell.and, i'm not going to give a reason why i think those two are funnier than hartman, because its all personal opinion. that could be the reason that snl was so popular, they combined chunks of comedy. some chunks i like, some chunks you like---[Edited on December 1, 2009 at 1:07 AM. Chris Farley

I've seen a few skits with Dan Aykroyd that cracked me upI want to see moreI also need to watch more of Eddie Murphy's stuff on SNL
12/1/2009 2:44:07 PM
I can't decide between:Phil HartmanDana CarveyMike MyersChris FarleyDan AkroydSteve Martin:\
12/1/2009 2:45:06 PM
Dana Carvey is a Lutheran.
12/1/2009 2:45:43 PM
12/1/2009 2:47:12 PM
I would put Dana Carvey and Mike Myers above Chris Farley. But those would be my top 3Tracy Morgan and Phil Hartman would round out my top 5[Edited on December 1, 2009 at 2:51 PM. Reason : a]
12/1/2009 2:50:08 PM
dana carvey had some stand up show from like 15 years ago that was awesome. about a year ago i saw another one that he did recently, and it started out really shitty and not funny. a few minutes into it it was like someone flipped a switch, and he immediately became hysterical.
12/1/2009 2:50:20 PM
Wasn't there a chick named Gilda Radner or something like that? I remember her being hysterical, tooidk, whenever I think SNL I think of:SPROCKETS (and the kid Mike Myers played)church ladyChippendale'sWe are 2 wild and craaaaaaaaazy guys!!and then various parts that I remember Phil Hartman doing.. love him
