Damn, you have a boyfriend, don't you?

Have any hot friends who want clutches and shoes for Christmas? That's the kind of girl I need.

Girls, seriously. You show a boy a picture of a brown clutch and you're going to end up with a tan duffle bag. Boys don't frequent stores with shoes or purses...sending them in is like asking your five year old to go get some groceries...you're gonna end up with cookies and beef jerky.

And this is all personal opinion so I don't mind saying that Tiffany's jewelry is overpriced and dull. The best gift I got was a gift certificate to go try a new hobby.

A spa gift is not for everyone. Some girls would love it but I'd be freaked out by weird people touching all over me.

[Edited on December 21, 2009 at 8:10 PM. Reason : Although I like the clutch you picked in another color.]

We don't know that stuff cause fashion is stupid. Fashion retards claim its an art and self expression, but how can self expression apply to everyone in waves that change with time rather than each individual irrespective of time? Calling fashion an expression of individuality is like the ministry of peace in 1984, its an expression of economic social class and conformity to that class.

well i would agree with you on the first paragraph except i pointed him in the direction of where he could actually find said clutch if he was interested. it wasn't like, here's a white clutch go nuts. of course a guy would look at a white duffel bag and go, "well its IS white."

so what would you ask for if your boyfriend is going to get you something for christmas? i'm super girly so all the things i had mentioned/pointed out (the clutches, the spa certificate, and jewelry) are all things i would be excited to get. i guess i am just too girly to think outside that box.

I'm getting a digital camera for Christmas

but I think I'm even more excited because I didn't even ask for it.. I told him I really didn't know what I wanted, but he noticed my camera right now is not good at all... Then I found out by accident that I was getting a super neat camera and I was all at first because I ruined the surprise but then I quickly became

So I guess my point is you should get her something that shows you're paying attention... but it also seems like you already picked so whatever.

Well, that's good that you pointed him to where he could find clutches. I was reading on my phone so I must've missed that part.

As far as what I asked for and what I got for Christmas....well, they were all thoughtful gifts. We already did our Christmas exchange so I ended up with a gift certificate to this little crafting place I have been talking about recently. I got a new fleece, a coffee mug (I collect them), and a leaf necklace that was an actual leaf dipped in gold, and some stuff for my office at school...Wow, all my gifts make me sound really nerdy and I am. So if you need nerdy gifts, I can help. If not, go see my girl Cass

Anyhow, hope she likes your gifts Bryan.

I haven't tried to pick out clothes/jewelry/accessories for a girlfriend since I was in middle school. I don't think I have bad taste, but I know most girls are picky about all that shit, and the chances of me getting her something that she would buy on her own if she had the money are slim to none.

Christmas/birthdays/valentines/anniversaries are easy. All you have to do is LISTEN and OBSERVE. At some point in the months preceeding any special occasion where you need to buy a gift, your girlfriend will mention AT LEAST a dozen things she needs or wants. Or you'll be out shopping with her and see her very interested in several things. Take note of these things...don't mention them again to her...and buy these things for gifts. She will be happy and surprised (surprised because you haven't brought it back up and maybe she's forgotten about it).

Example:

I've been seeing a girl for the past few months. She absolutely LOVES "Three Sheets" with Zane Lamprey. But she can only watch it online with her roommate's computer (because she doesn't have one)...and that's rarely available. So I got her all 4 seasons on DVD. My girl makes jewelry on the side. So I got her a gift certificate to a Beads store here in downtown Charleston where she buys material to make her jewelry. My girl has been complaining about the ipod shuffle a friend gave her a long time ago only having shitty music on it. So I bought her an Ipod Nano and just downloaded a shit ton of her favorite bands on my computer so she can set up her nano on my laptop and have a lot of her favorite music already on there.

No jewelry, no accessories, no clothes...but she'll still be ridiculously happy. She's already got the "Three Sheets" DVDs (was there when I got the package and went ahead and gave it to her), and she went nuts. Gift-giving is really simple for someone who you are around a lot (I still struggle with my mom and sister, who I see only a couple times a year). Just listen and observe.

I don't have a girlfriend, but the cheap gift that you can't go wrong with for any woman is candles. Even if you buy them something else you should still buy them some candles too. Michaels craft store has $.99 candles that come in tins. I bought them for all of the women I hang out with and they thought they were really cool.

I made her a CD of songs that reminded me of her...I added my voice to all the tracks and DJ'd the entire CD explaining why/how each song made me feel that way. Also made a sweet cover and case for it. Also got her some stocking stuffers and a monetary gift...but the CD I felt was the "big one"

Don't think that will work, but I got her an actual Pearl Necklace, not the NSFW variety

- Keurig coffee maker w/Caribou variety pack
- This print that she saw last year in Charleston and really liked

- A milk frother because she loved having the frothed milk with her coffee when we were in Costa Rica.

Lingere is good! Just be sure it's the right size ... and maybe get something else so that you're not just giving the message that "I only want to use you for your body."
