I apologize, he does not write it in entirety but does contribute more than most other presidents or politicians.

prior to election he would write a speech in its entirety.

yeah you're right, almost no layoffs, relatively low unemployment, not a year plus recession, less stagnation in congress, high stock exchange indexes...

boy life was surely hell before

soooo, what's the problem with the teleprompters again?

nothing else to bitch about? butt-hurt that our President actually sounds educated and delivers well thought out messages unlike the last Bozo we had in office?

Bush is a lying piece of shit. The sooner that motherfucker jumps off a fucking bridge, the better our country and all of our lives will be. Anyone that supported that asshole after 2002 is borderline retarded.

more so than the soft and mild platitudes that obama spews and has been spewing his entire political career, dude's softer than a wet noodle

i thought this was about your above post rather than a comment towards obama.

Quote :
"not a year plus recession"

the recession started in 2007. Obama didn't take office until Jan 21, 2009. As far as I can tell we just recently crossed the 1+ year for obama while bush also endured 1+ year.

Quote :
"almost no layoffs, relatively low unemployment,"

are you talking about just the tail end of his term, because if so then your comment has some validity, but the 2001 and onward was a little rough. furthermore not all jobs lost in that time have been regained even before the most recent recession.

Please explain how unemployment grew consistently with no layoffs.

Quote :
"high stock exchange indexes"

Which was a complete facade built on poor fiscal policy. i'll admit that the late 90s had a similar effect but it was no where near as extreme.

I'll split it up into bush administrations epic screw ups and major screw ups

epic:
accessory to the greatest financial crisis ever
iraq war
america becoming a pariah
Katrina

major:
terrorist attacks while govt ignored warnings
$4 gas
patriot act
torture & Guantanamo bay
2 recessions

oh i could go on and on,
im always willing to argue this subject of whether the bush administation was a success or not, its just hard to find someone who will defend bush nowadays

^^ What, Obama just called Bush to help out with Haiti.

[Edited on January 26, 2010 at 1:16 PM. Reason : I hardly think Obama would ask a war criminal or some such to do that.]

i would to because in a time like this you have to put politics aside and get bush to round up his supporters,
a lesser president would have played politics but glad to see obama is once again the bigger man

and no one called bush a war criminal, although you might make that case for cheney

Does anyone remember Governor Kathleen Blanco?

Should couldn't even run for re-election due to her pitiful response. Bush could've done better, but it sure as hell wasn't all his fault.

^x7 You mean Ray "Chocolate City" Nagan?

I can respect someone who points out flaws in everyone, because I can identify with healthy cynicism. However, the people who only point out flaws in the people that they disagree with, are just plain idiotic. I voted for Obama, but I can see that he is failing to deliver on several fronts. However, his failures and blunders are minuscule in comparison to Bush. The real tragedy occurs when these types of people fail to recognize this massive shortcoming, and instead actually believe they are making sense.

whats really funny about the criticism coming from the teabagger crowd is what their alternative to obama would be

but i do admit that when you have someone as bad as bush its easy to unit the demorcratic party, but now that we have power some are starting to fight each other while the neo-cons are uniting
but even at this time they have no leadership and continue to latch on people who have style but no substance like scott brown
so i'd rather stick with obama if they're the only alternative

Palin's not my alternative. But in all honesty, the Republican field of presidential candidates is weak--this could be Obama's biggest asset in 2012.

Basically, the Republicans have Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty, and Haley Barbour in that order--and each has strengths and weaknesses of his own. There could be a wild card like a Scott Brown or a Condoleezza Rice, but I just don't see it.
