Yea, I really wish they'd charge like 3.99 for the biscuit. If they're not cheaper than Bojangles then they can forget my business... I mean really, it's not hard. They're making those biscuits factory style, and they'd be making a ton of profit on 'em.
5/4/2010 4:34:45 AM
bullshit they're not lastingtime-out has been open foreverit's probably silly to open this one as the semester is ending, but they make money hand over fist after 2any night PB's is open, forget itpeople are all about that shit
5/4/2010 4:56:29 AM
I'm still eating here within the week, just so we're all clear. Enough people have said the food was worthwhile, despite the fact that others have boo'd it. In either case, I still need to get in my culinary review--and I'm honestly not that hard to please when it comes to greasy comfort foods.

5/4/2010 8:38:13 AM
i ate there on saturday and thought it was ok
5/4/2010 8:59:12 AM
^^Yea, we'll see about that. I have a feeling like two will be what I want.
5/4/2010 2:40:56 PM
Went there about an hour ago. Biscuits are not as large as people may have them seem. They are fairly big, however. Food was pretty good overall, but the fried okra was cold. The fake mashed potatoes are on par with Bojangles, but the mac 'n cheese is pretty good. I got the chicken BBQ, and thought it was pretty good. All in all, for a place that's open 24 hours, it's pretty decent.
5/5/2010 4:01:34 AM
Had the chicken biscuit with cheese. Not impressed. A Bojangles faithful I remain...
5/6/2010 6:25:04 AM
Just got a chicken cheddar and sausage egg and cheese because I could not decide. Ate one, put the other in fridge for later.
5/6/2010 8:13:49 AM
Generally, I buy two kinds of food:- super-cheap low quality- fairly expensive high qualityI'm not sure that Time-Out fits either... It appears to be fairly expensive middle quality. If everything on the menu was $1 cheaper, or if most of it was local or organic, I might consider it.

5/6/2010 8:31:48 AM
Then again, I'm one of those people that doesn't eat the skin on fried chicken lol.
5/6/2010 8:46:17 AM
you crazy... the skin is the best parti think i prefer smithfield's side dishesbut i ain't tried it all yet
5/6/2010 9:24:01 AM
I have friends in CH that get the box of bones as well. Seems a little less damaging than the skin plate.
5/6/2010 9:30:05 AM
I just ate the chicken cheddar biscuit omg
5/6/2010 9:30:06 AM
I even invented a dish called Hot Skins (as in Hot Wings)Hot Skins----------------butter, meltedTexas Peteraw chicken skinsaltfryer oilMix equal parts melted butter and Texas Pete in a very large bowl.Chop up the skins into medium-sized pieces and toss with a little salt. Deep fry until crispy. Drain. Toss in the sauce. Serve.

Look, all these haters be hatin', because I just had an awesome dining experience. I had two chicken-cheddar-egg (the egg is more like a little omelet they put on it) biscuits and they were fantastic! I giggled when I saw them just grab a thigh and pull the bone out--no nasty fillets or anything, just awesome chicken and accessories.Of course, cheese and egg together means +2.00 to each biscuit. That is crazy, stupidly crazy. They HAVE to at least lower cheese to .50--I mean it's a fucking sprinkle of greasy cheddar, why is that worth a dollar? I mean, I kind of understand the egg (ton of it on there), but the cheese? Hell no.
5/8/2010 12:23:10 PM
I'm so glad this place opened up
5/21/2010 4:30:21 AM
has anyone ever eaten their all day breakfast there? lol
6/6/2010 10:44:07 AM
how is this place compare to the one in chapel hill?
6/6/2010 10:54:53 AM
you say this
6/6/2010 1:39:21 PM
lol
6/6/2010 1:59:26 PM
i can say, without question, that i will never eat at Time-Out
6/6/2010 2:50:49 PM
I like the place. If I walk out of EV or FH at 2am there's no way I'm gonna say, "well, let's all pile into the car and drive to Bojangles because their biscuit is a dollar cheaper and half as big!!" no, i'm gonna stumble over to Time-Out and eat a 1000 calorie biscuit and a sweet tea. Sure, it isn't the best food in the world but it's certainly on par with anything else you can find at 2am.
6/6/2010 4:19:52 PM
that makes no sense seeing as how Bojangles is closed at 2 am
6/6/2010 5:05:03 PM
even better reason to go to Time-Out instead
6/7/2010 5:09:59 PM
6/7/2010 5:14:18 PM
I have never been to Time-Out. I will have to try this infamous Chicken and Cheddar Biscuit you guys keep talking about.[Edited on July 9, 2010 at 10:29 PM. Reason : ..]
7/9/2010 10:20:17 PM
I'm the mayor of Time-Out on 4square.
7/9/2010 10:24:02 PM
I tried the Chicken and Cheddar biscuit at Time-Out this morning. It was ok. It's not worth the $5. They need to lower prices some if they want good business.
7/10/2010 1:18:07 PM
i hate when they don't have fried okra. it makes me a sad pandaBUTtheir mac n cheese is still pretty good for post-bar eating so. yum.
7/10/2010 1:38:18 PM
Though they sometimes don't have fried okra when I want it, I'm almost always satisfied if they have mac n cheese and mashed potatoes with gravy.
7/11/2010 5:31:26 AM
Time-Out needs to GTFO and go back to Chapped Hole.
7/11/2010 9:32:37 AM
until they bring the skin plate to Raleigh, I will not be spending any money or time at this place
7/11/2010 10:14:49 AM
It's nice to have one in Raleigh, but it's way expensive.
7/11/2010 11:36:43 AM
For the amount of food you get with a bbq plate, it is quite reasonable. A bbq plate is pretty much enough for 2 meals.
7/11/2010 5:43:16 PM
BBQ is reasonable compared to the price for biscuits and such.I will say that much. Also, I like how ANY CRITICISM AT ALL = YOU MUST NOT LIKE IT.Interesting.
7/11/2010 6:44:59 PM
I am going to go get one of these fabled biscuits. My review afterwords will settle the issue one and for all.
7/11/2010 6:47:49 PM
haven't been yet... guess I'll try it out sometime soon.
7/11/2010 6:51:34 PM
meh. It was tasty but I don't think it'll be diverting any money from my bojangles fund.
7/11/2010 7:56:51 PM
7/11/2010 8:46:15 PM
poops
10/10/2010 6:53:22 PM
it will be out of business soon... not even open 24 hours anymore
10/23/2010 3:52:30 AM
10/23/2010 4:00:25 AM
Hillsborough st does not have enough night activity to support this place 24-7.They should have gotten a drive through and I would eat there more.
10/23/2010 11:23:46 AM
The primary appeal of this place was that it was open all the time and in walking distance from the bars. The only times I ever frequented Time-Out was between 2:30am and 6am.[Edited on October 23, 2010 at 11:26 AM. Reason : time]
10/23/2010 11:26:31 AM
I tried to go yesterday morning. They don't open until 11 on Sundays. Boo!
10/25/2010 9:45:44 AM
seriously? what time do they close??? i thought they were always open.
10/25/2010 10:15:50 AM
I don't know. I went to Bojangles instead. Maybe Ill try to check them out tomorrow...
