Well it's slowed down...going to get here early Friday morning instead of Thursday evening.
8/31/2010 10:12:04 AM
Hurricane watch. All the news crews are down here at the Sheraton, and more are coming in. Probably head over to the pier tomorrow night to be on tv.
8/31/2010 8:10:13 PM
its just a little rain and wind
8/31/2010 8:14:51 PM
Well as of right now they are saying 70+ mph gusts, 50 mph+ winds. Good thing my house has a new roof on it. Unfortnately I live just a stones throw from the sound on two sides of my house so I hope I don't have flooding.

I'm going to be between Emerald Isle, Atlantic Beach, and Morehead City.WE WILL SEE, GOOD SIRS.
8/31/2010 11:02:40 PM
^^Well right now I live like a mile from it...tomorrow I'll live 3 miles from it.
8/31/2010 11:43:11 PM
Earl is back down to a category 3.
9/1/2010 9:08:38 AM
I'm in Wilmington, and if all the predictions hold true, we will just have a wet Thursday here.
9/1/2010 10:08:10 AM
be sure to get pictures of the young ones in wet t-shirts. wait wait wait, i don't need to tell you that.
9/1/2010 10:08:59 AM
The hurricane watch only goes as far south as Surf City. Willmington will just have some good swells, but probably not much other than that. Hell we probably won't get too much here.
9/1/2010 10:20:39 AM
DammitI want an all out shit storm to hit Raleigh- I haven't had a good hurricane party in a while
9/1/2010 10:25:03 AM
Well there is a system brewing out there past Fiona Apple. There is still a chance.Ocracoke has a mandatory evacuation for all tourists. I know here Cape Lookout and Shack has been closed to visitors. Small craft advisories. Coast Guard won't go out if swells are over 15 feet. I hope I can get some good videos of the swells. I'll post them.So far people around here are just kinda waiting to see what happens. Since the winds we will be getting will be winds from the North, and we are a south facing beach we will have to worry about the sound flooding and high tide. But today after I finish moving I'm going to run to the store and get beer and water.[Edited on September 1, 2010 at 10:33 AM. Reason : ]

Tropical Depression 9Could become Gastonbtw...we're now in a Hurricane Warning.[Edited on September 1, 2010 at 11:02 AM. Reason : ]
9/1/2010 10:58:06 AM
My neighbros be boarding up their windows and shit.
9/1/2010 1:04:08 PM
I mean it's coming close enough that we'll be getting sustained hurricane force winds in Morehead and Atlantic Beach. So boarding up windows isn't a bad precaution to take.
9/1/2010 3:45:07 PM
Mandatory evacuation of the island that I live on. I'm not leaving.I also got interviewed by ABC so watch for me at 11.
9/1/2010 9:40:58 PM
what island?
9/1/2010 9:42:22 PM
9/1/2010 9:42:29 PM
you still at EI?they evacuated there? where you living on there nowpm if you wish to keep it out of the public record
9/1/2010 9:45:04 PM
I live in Atlantic Beach. And there is no need to leave, the storm isn't hitting us dead on.I was just out at Mollys.I mean I'll pack and bag and shit and if it looks like it will get too bad I'll leave, but they are saying they want us off at 5:30 am...fuck if I'm getting up that early and leaving when the storm isn't even going to come until that evening.
9/1/2010 9:48:36 PM
ok yea we have a place at Indian beach so, you'll be my update machine lol.I didnt think it would hit but...if it doesnt start turning more it may just indeed push lots of water onshore.
9/1/2010 9:50:41 PM
The biggest worry is sound flooding. The house I just moved into is a stones throw away from the sound on two sides of it, and the road floods pretty bad. I'm actually going to be saying with a friend in PKS tomorrow night. We're having a hurricane party. They live high enough that we shouldn't really have to worry about it all. But tomorrow I need to get my pass from town hall in case I do have to leave, so I can get back on the island. They only let you off if you live here after they close the bridge.
9/1/2010 9:52:56 PM
Okay well I'm getting ready to go off line for a while...if I don't get to update for a while...just so y'all know...I LOVE YOU GUYS!
9/1/2010 9:57:44 PM
9/1/2010 10:02:04 PM
^That's a pretty mean thing to say. Regardless, there is no point to leave. The path of the hurricane hasn't changed it's path and the only people leaving are the tourists. A few older locals are leaving. I'm still going to have a bag packed in case I do need to leave with a quickness, but there seriously is no point to leave today.
9/2/2010 10:26:40 AM
When would you plan on leaving, then?
9/2/2010 10:32:24 AM
If Earl doesn't take that turn, and they think it will come closer to land then I might leave. But as of right now with it still planning on just grazzing us here, there is no need to leave.
9/2/2010 10:35:52 AM
sorry about the size (if these images work). I love these kind of pictures, this is obviously Earl

9/2/2010 4:25:31 PM
Angry ocean r angry
9/2/2010 6:07:21 PM
Sheraton Pier in Atlantic Beach.
9/2/2010 7:10:04 PM
Atlantic Beach has an 8 PM curfew and PKS has a 7:30 PM curfew
9/2/2010 7:31:49 PM
I'm cruising in to EI tomorrow. When are they going to open the bridge and will Coastguard Rd. be flooded? Sounds like the weather will be awesome.
9/2/2010 10:20:06 PM
I wonder if Earl will let me cop a room at the Sheraton on Monday for leik 50 dollarbux.
9/2/2010 10:38:30 PM
Well...it's all over and done with, as far as I can tell nothing is wrong...except for the pier.
9/3/2010 8:57:45 AM
What a let down. I will say that it was pretty neat having the very edge of the clouds directly over my head here in Burlington when I got home this morning. And now it's snow eater time!
9/3/2010 9:06:48 AM
IGOOOOOOOOOOOOOR
9/10/2010 2:12:30 PM
HURRICANE Igoooooooooor
9/11/2010 11:30:27 PM
Category 4, could become category 5 soon. All I know is if Igor makes a path for the island and is a cat. 5, well I'll be leaving for a bit.
9/12/2010 3:02:17 PM
Igor looks like a nasty sonovabitch. But it is still too early to know if it will even hit us.
9/12/2010 6:30:51 PM
Looks like Igor will just kinda hang around out at sea...go right over Bermuda. Sucks for them.
