I didn't see the Bluebird cupcakes booth! I should have read here on where it was beforehand. I also didn't see the girlscout cookies booth.

Went tonight for can food day and was surprised by the relatively smaller crowd compared to years past. Glad I read this thread beforehand though. Got a great cinnamon swirl cupcake from Blue Bird. And thanks to Fhqwhgads for the tip on the Duke surveys. My wife and I ended up taking all of them and got $26. We actually left the fair with more cash than we spent lol

There's an excellent article in the Indy this week about the concert booking for the fair and how they're overtly (and overly) concerned about offending the sensibilities of the rednecks who drive most of the fair's economic activity.

Has anybody had the Philly Cheesesteak eggrolls? I was curious about those.

I had a snickers Bluebird Cupcake today. It was really good! Make those again next year. After 2 trips to the fair I spent a total of $62.50, but had fun with my friends. I guess it was worth it. So how much did the rest of you spend at the state fair?

no wayI hate how excited I get each year for the fair (I think it's the excitement of those around me) because I am miserable the whole time I'm there.

I didn't go but Mike's mommy did and she bought me a red candy apple, honey cotton candy, and maple cotton candy.

Thanks to whoever posted about the Duke research booth. Our family made $50 in about 10 minutes.
