It doesn't take a truckload of cash. These contracts are incredibly flimsy by design. Duke and their truckloads of cash and unending supply of lawyers couldn't enforce theirs. If a dude doesn't want to play at your school, it's not going to cost some exorbitant sum to end the contract. Because it is not payment for playing. It is simply payment for use of their likeness. And there's no damages due to irreparable harm from choosing not to play because, again, these contracts can't legally take into account on-field/court performance. So the worst case scenario for the player is they have to pay back some money if say they received a lump sum instead of regular "paychecks". They are pretty much never going to be on the hook for more than they were initially owed by the school/3rd party NIL

Contracts are easily dismissed because there's tons of legal precedent in contract law. And they don't require NCAA involvement to get out of one

Where are you getting 30 days from? My read of the the latest rules says you get a 15 day timer starting 5 days after the new coach is hired.

^^The contract was dismissed because Miami forked over a bunch of money to settle the lawsuit. That doesn’t sound like contracts are meaningless at all, it’s quite the opposite.
