Approximately $2.6 billion was spent on this presidential election. In 2008, there were something like 130 million votes cast. So, if we have something like that turn out again today, that'd be about $20 spent per vote received (for any candidate). Why we don't have biscuits sponsored at polling places blows my mind.

the day that will not end....

But you could put cheese on bread and stick it under the broiler and then squish it together. I don't own a toaster either.
11/6/2012 2:16:44 PM
no foil to line a baking sheet or the oven rack - and as much as I've cleaned that thing since we moved here, I still won't eat anything that touches it. Moot point anyway, because I had a peanut butter sammich two hours ago. Totally unsatisfying And holy Gerard Butler Sooo fine[Edited on November 6, 2012 at 2:24 PM. Reason : we actually have a toaster oven, but it's being stored in the basement bc our kitchen is tiny]

We have way too many boxes labeled "cat toys." I had one tiny little box of cat toys and that's it. Curious to see what ends up in those boxes.
11/6/2012 3:00:31 PM
what the heck do you do to make a grilled cheese sandwich so messy?
11/6/2012 3:17:23 PM
Putting way too much damn cheese on the sandwich.
11/6/2012 3:20:13 PM
who doesn't free base their grilled cheese w/ a lighter?come on guys
11/6/2012 3:22:19 PM
go to a diner and get one. grilled cheeses made on a grill top where they make burgers > all othersOM NOM NOM GREASY GOODNESS
11/6/2012 3:24:31 PM
2 slices of cheese, butter the bread, if you have a decent nonstick pan there's no need for water. just paper towel it once youre done and call it a day
11/6/2012 3:27:59 PM
haha saps and I do dishes the same way
11/6/2012 3:29:44 PM
why would anyone ever need water to make a grilled cheese?
11/6/2012 3:31:49 PM
not to make it but to clean up... remind me not to eat at any of yall nasty asses houses
11/6/2012 3:38:33 PM
I have no idea how cheese flanked by toasted bread can be messy. But I guess I'm weird.
11/6/2012 3:52:57 PM
I am a fucking grilled cheese guru. If y'all need any tips, let me know.
11/6/2012 3:53:53 PM
first off, a proper grilled cheese has mayo too, and when cooked right, there should be loss of center contents due to "leakage." also, throw in the fact that the bread should be sufficiently buttered prior to cooking to achieve maximum golden deliciousness. after properly assembling and cooking said sammich, the pan should be in a state of dirtiness, requiring a standard cleaning.
11/6/2012 4:08:30 PM
.....did you just say MAYO!?

I would cut someone for put mayo on my grilled cheese. NO NO NO
11/6/2012 4:13:25 PM
no mayo please
11/6/2012 4:14:34 PM
apparently I'm trying to describe greatness to a bunch of mayo hatin non pan cleaning heathens, so i will bow out now and save myself the headache
11/6/2012 4:15:01 PM
While I do think mayo on grilled cheese can be tasty, saying a "proper" one has it is a lie.
11/6/2012 4:17:39 PM
1. Butter 2 slices of bread2. Heat pan on medium-high3. Place slice one butter side down in pan4. Put cheese on bread in pan (I usually do 1 slice cheddar and 1 slice provolone)5. Place 2nd slice of bread on top, butter side up6. Once bottom slice is nice and brown, flip.7. Cook flipped sammie until bottom is brown. By the time the bottom slice is brown, the cheese should be perfectly melted.Clean up should require little more than a rinse of the pan with soap and water.[Edited on November 6, 2012 at 4:21 PM. 11/6/2012 4:18:28 PM
^signedsometimes i do a tomato slice or bacon to shake things up a little bit
11/6/2012 4:23:34 PM
^^ mine is pretty much the same, but with mayo (and sometimes some seasoning if it is accompanying a soup)but yeah, still need to clean that pan with some soap and water!^sometimes i add some ham to make a croque monsieur, or some salami for a little extra taste[Edited on November 6, 2012 at 4:25 PM. 11/6/2012 4:24:13 PM
pepperoni and hot sauce are also good additions. but that's more a pepperoni panini than a grilled cheese at that point
11/6/2012 4:24:33 PM
Yeah, I was going to add that in the summer I will add a fresh tomato slice in between the slices of cheese.
11/6/2012 4:27:43 PM
i am in the mayo boat.
11/6/2012 4:28:44 PM
I like mayo too, but it is definitely not a standard ingredient in "proper" grilled cheese
11/6/2012 4:29:44 PM
i guess we will have to agree to disagree on the great mayo debate of 2012
11/6/2012 4:34:34 PM
I can tell you someone who sure as hell won't put mayo on a gc
11/6/2012 4:49:25 PM
mayo on a grilled cheese?what the fuck
11/6/2012 4:53:26 PM
Mayo is so weird. It is so delicious but also so disgusting. I love it, but not when I have to think too hard about the fact that I'm eating it.
11/6/2012 4:55:35 PM
it's great for mixing with things thoughstraight up i don't care for itbut simple things like putting sriracha in it, or for one of my favorite burger recipes ill dice andioulle sausage and mix into the beef, molasses braised onions, and a mayo with that Tony Chacheres creole seasoningdem's good.[Edited on November 6, 2012 at 4:59 PM. So you have internet but no water? Time to check your priorities.
11/6/2012 5:20:09 PM
in no way should not having water keep you from making a grilled cheese sandwich, thats just absurd. You dont have to stack that shit with epic cheeses and fillings, two slices and youre good with no leakage. unless youre using a pan from the 1950's all that should be left is a little butter residue which can be wiped right off. place the pan in the dishwasher and when the water comes back run the dishwasher. I'm sorry but in a time when so many people have no power or light or heat fretting over not being able to immediately clean a frying pan spotless after you use it seems rather silly.]
11/6/2012 5:31:06 PM

What's a fat bracket?I remember it was pretty cool when my Wii Fit told me I was overweight instead of of obese.
