^ I concur. Make it some good bluegrass though. IMHO, there's a lot of bluegrass that's pure crap.but you can't go wrong with 90's rock and country, and not this 2000's country-pop shit.and some good 80's hits as well
10/6/2008 9:44:21 PM
Thats what I figured, I knew you had a ton.
10/6/2008 9:44:49 PM

who wants to fix id tags? say, about 20,000?
10/6/2008 9:47:39 PM
$1 a tag?
10/6/2008 9:48:16 PM

10/6/2008 9:48:49 PM
http://musicbrainz.org/I've been using Picard for a while, but I'm sure there's better ones.
10/6/2008 9:49:02 PM
^WAIT.that does them automatically? how does that work?as in, it can look through my music and figure it out, or it needs a cd/some decent id information to do it? [Edited on October 6, 2008 at 9:50 PM. Reason : .] [Edited on October 6, 2008 at 9:51 PM. Reason : enrish as second language]
10/6/2008 9:50:00 PM
voodoo and/or black magic
10/6/2008 9:50:29 PM
Godsmack/Santana? [Edited on October 6, 2008 at 9:52 PM. Reason : FUCKING ENGRISH]
10/6/2008 9:51:59 PM
It will tag and rename the file (to whatever format you want) with no other info. Some it will nail, no problem, others it will screw up and/or not find. For the most part, as long as you don't have a bunch of weird remixes of songs it does a good job.[Edited on October 6, 2008 at 9:56 PM. Reason : yes, godsmack and santana!][Edited on October 6, 2008 at 9:57 PM. Reason : except that's Black Magic Woman]
10/6/2008 9:55:14 PM
Does this work with different formats, like .mp3, .wma?[Edited on October 6, 2008 at 9:57 PM. Reason : Who requested all the Apocalyptica???]
10/6/2008 9:57:09 PM
i refuse to put country in the main rotation i've got an exam tomorrow and wednesday, then it's fall break. i'll finish up all the code then.SOON, I SAY!
10/6/2008 9:58:06 PM
BUT REDNECKS WANT 90'S COUNTRY.
10/6/2008 9:59:38 PM
A little country wouldn't hurt nobody...
10/6/2008 10:00:39 PM
It's good country, and I don't like country music.^^^^And I think picard does wma's but I'm not sure. Def does mp3[Edited on October 6, 2008 at 10:01 PM. Reason : moar carrots]
10/6/2008 10:00:54 PM
p.s.: due to the recent influx of apocalyptica requests, i'm sticking on some restrictions not everyone wants to hear the same artist for an hour (maybe in a programming block, but not in general rotation)here they are (they're done by IP, so yes, if you really want to, you can cheat it):you can request up to 6 songs every 30 minutesthe maximum number of requests you can make in a day is 36songs from the same album will not be allowed to play within 15 minutes of each othersongs from the same artist will not be allowed to play within 15 minutes of each othera song will not be allowed to play if it's been played already in the last hour

i just set it upso all requests from this point forward will abide by these rulesif you make a request and it violates a rule, the error message will tell you why it was rejected.
10/6/2008 10:04:55 PM
10/6/2008 10:06:06 PM
so it's more like EVAN Radio where you play whatever evan wants to hear.that's cool. i can't say i really blame you
10/6/2008 10:09:11 PM
I dunno, he seems to be putting quite a bit of time into to make sure its a good system, but the country hate needs to stop.
10/6/2008 10:10:32 PM
Needs Journey, Styx, Boston, Queen, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Van Halen, Scorpions, AC/DC, Guns&Roses, Aerosmith, Rick Astley, Eagles, BTO, Santana etc. etc. etc. Also needs Alan Jackson, Josh Turner, Montgomery Gentry, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, Trace Adkins, Rodney Atkins, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney and George Strait. etc. etc. etc.-------------I've only heard of like 3 bands in all of evan's collection.
10/6/2008 10:10:41 PM
nah, i just can't stand country. i'm fine with everything elseand hey, remember: i'm paying for this shit! [Edited on October 6, 2008 at 10:11 PM. Reason : if you guys really want country, i guess i'll let it go in]
10/6/2008 10:10:51 PM
^^not at all the right kind of country. except strait and some alan jackson^and that's cool. i wouldn't wanna sit through all the lame stuff just to hear one or two decent songs all day anyway.[Edited on October 6, 2008 at 10:12 PM. Reason : l]
10/6/2008 10:11:35 PM
What are you paying for exactly, just out of curiousity.
10/6/2008 10:11:59 PM
bandwidth and royalties
10/6/2008 10:12:24 PM
how much are royalties
10/6/2008 10:13:19 PM
i'd guess $0.0014 per song per listener]
10/6/2008 10:13:49 PM
That is a stunning guess.
10/6/2008 10:14:45 PM
set up a donation paypal account!
10/6/2008 10:15:37 PM
At the current rate $1 would let you listen to about 71,000 songs, if you were the only listener. If I'm wrong I blame my absolutely aweful math skills. Curse you 5th grade.
10/6/2008 10:17:06 PM
i think you're wrong there, buddy
10/6/2008 10:20:35 PM
714.29 songs, actually
10/6/2008 10:21:44 PM
As I stated, I blame 5th grade. At least I'm not a women. Then my horrid math skills would be hereditary and not by choice![Edited on October 6, 2008 at 10:23 PM. Reason : oh snap]
10/6/2008 10:22:39 PM
is 1/.0014 really that hard?
10/6/2008 10:25:19 PM
To me it is. I'm dreadful at math and once you factor in the part of me not caring that much all hope becomes truly lost.I did 100/.0014 since I figured we are talking about 100 cents making a dollar and it being .0014 of a cent. I admit I'm an idiot in such things. I'm fairly certain I'm still qualified to work for the IRS though.[Edited on October 6, 2008 at 10:28 PM. Reason : ]
10/6/2008 10:26:29 PM
ok just checkingi hope it's more your lack of care as opposed to your horrible math skills. a retarded monkey with down syndrome could do 1/.0014
10/6/2008 10:28:21 PM
^^do you work for verizon?[Edited on October 6, 2008 at 10:29 PM. Reason : i think it was verizon, anyway]
10/6/2008 10:29:37 PM
It's really a little of column a and a little of column b. I am really terrible at math and I never cared much to get better. If I stop an concentrate I can do it but typically I don't bother. I'll just spout something off and hope nobody bothers to correct me or that they think I'm mentally challenged and think it's cute.Haha, no I do not work for Verizon.[Edited on October 6, 2008 at 10:31 PM.
